Hello to my whole new world! I have had my ups and down with this Vapor World. I have to say I enjoy it 'WHEN" I get the juices, batteries and carto's just right! It is not as often as I wish it could be but when I do, OMG is ever so wonderful!! I really started investigating this site yesterday, I seen many of the same problems I am having. The juice mess! What happens when you get this stuff on your skin. How it can affect people with allergies. etc....

I would really like to know why I get the burning in the throat even when I know there is plenty of juice in my carto's. It doesn't happen all the time, but I want to know what I am doing wrong to get this effect? I am and will keep searching for the answers! I like most want to get every thing out of this new world I can and KNOW I need to learn a better method. Thanks so much for all the great info out there.
Yellow Rose.

I am :vapor: with a v2 ciggs-battery and electric pass through. (808)
My juice of choice is from Kick bass vapor-60/30
18 to 24 mg of the nic
P.S. I also need to learn about trackback and tags too>

Welcome YellowRose2007! Hope we can make your vaping experience great! As you now know, quality vaping can be a bit of a high-maintenance effort, but with time it gets easier and easier. It took me a solid month before I got the hang of vaping and my 510 when I started out, so be patient.

Burnt taste is almost always caused by the heating coil getting too dry, which is generally a function of poor wicking of the juice to the coil. Your juices might be a bit on the thick side. I assume by 60/30 means PG/VG. Cartos like thinner juices, so you could try taking a few mL of your juice and adding a few drops of distilled water or PGA. Not too much! Too thin will kill vapor.

It could also be that while it looks like the carto is full, it is only full on top. Make sure you let the juice soak in fully before vaping, and even then I generally take a few hits on a newly filled carto, then remove it because the heat has caused the juice to more fully spread out, and add more drops until it is just pooling on top. Of course the cap must be removed to do this. If you have hard-caps which are a real pain to remove, you can invert the carto thread end up, and drip onto the center hole, allowing each drop to suck into the carto. When the drops do not go in anymore, or it starts to drip out of the mouth piece, you are done. Blow out the excess into a paper towel and vape.

If after all this you still get a burnt taste, something is wrong with the carto itself. It happens. Try a new one. If you find all in a box are doing this, I would contact the vendor for a new box, as it looks like it was a bad lot, which does happen occasionally.

On the other hand, if by "carto" you actually mean "cart" (for cartridge, being use with an atomizer in a 3-piece PV), then you are having the age old problem of a cart that is not wicking juice well to the atty bridge. This is a REALLY common problem with the original carts and their fluval filler. The filler holds on to juice too well. There are many cart "mods" to try to solve this, generally involving using different fillers to replace the fluval. I spent months in the cart mod rat race, and came to the conclusion that no matter what you do with the original carts, they still leak, don't wick as well as they should, and run out of juice too quickly even when they are working properly. I have said a resounding NO to carts, as a result, and only either drip into attys or use cartomizers ("cartos"), and never looked back. Tank atty/cart systems have been developed recently, but even these still have a lot of bugs. My preference is Boge cartos, CE2 cartos, or direct dripping into a 510 atty.

If you need more back and forth discussion on this, I suggest posting this in the New Members forum. You should be able to solve this fairly quickly there, or at least get more suggestions of things to try.

Good luck and good vaping!
