Well my last attempt looked great for a week or so, then got sticky.

I got sick of the feel, so took cotton balls and acetone and wiped it to original state.

I decided to give it another go with a different paint. Used Rust-o-leum semi matte for metal etc.
First I just covered it , looked great all black but it had bubbles.

Acetone again.

Same thing, maybe the heat? Would not get a perfect coverage.

I decided to lightly spray it and liked the speckled look. Messed it up. This was the 5th try.

I like it. Hope it is durable. I was going to clear coat it, but decided to leave well enough alone.
If it wears , I can do it again.

This shot is the shot "as is" not photoshop magic or tricks or sharpening etc.

This one is lightly enhanced, my style of glamour shots.

Hey @anavidfan been a while! When I see people looking for a good paint I recommend trying Bed Liner as it is supposedly the most durable paint around. By the way your last finish looks pretty nice!

I have a couple old 316 SS tubes that are really well used. Been thinking of blackening them, but wonder how well paint will adhere to the surface. I suppose brushed is a better surface or do you think Bed Liner will adhere to a polished tube?

I also have a GUS Warrior of light that has a great textured tube that I keep looking at and wondering how cool it would be if it were BLACK... Then Id also would love to make on of my FEVs black....
