Very sharp cuticle scissors will work, or some small wire cutters should work too. Even nail clippers if looks don't matter.

ETA: It doesn't really have to be a "V", just cut it so it can't possibly get stuck against the bottom or side of the bottle. Theoreticaly, you could just push a pin through it near the bottom to accomplish the same thing.

Larger air hole will give you more vapor, a little less flavor (sometimes more flavor as vapor production goes up but there is a breaking point where flavor takes a hit), less throat hit, and a cooler vape. It's a fine balance between all of those and vaping nirvana.

Figured I would chime in and mention this too as it was the one main thing for me that I was making the mistake of. Naturally a lovely Reonaught helped me get it right though. Squonk squonk squonk. :) I was not getting enough juice up into the well at all. Holding the bottle now a good 8 seconds has made all the difference in the world. That truly was a awesome looking coil for a first build.
