Whenever someone is interested in my pv it usually follows the same pattern. They've heard about them, seen the tv ads, their co-worker uses them, and maybe they might try them. They ask what I have, and how much was it, how does it taste. If I know them I let them try mine. So far, so good. But when they find out that the batteries, attis, carts, cartos, and juices have to be replaced periodically, must be recharged and refilled, etc, their eyes lose that bright, hopeful gleam. I quickly say well, you can just buy the disposables and toss them when they're done, although it will be as expensive as real cigs, and they're not very good. (I dare not even broach the subject of some people who make their own mods and liquids!)
I know it depends on how much they really want to quit tobacco and live longer. And I know how much fun they can get out of all of that.
But I also know several good people that have great, kind hearts, wonderful humor, fine minds, and a stubborn resistance to anything new, particularly if it seems difficult or confusing.
I'm sure vaping will get simpler as time goes by, and all this will be the stone age of vaping, but for now this is what we have to work with.
So-with someone you love, that this world really needs to stick around as long as possible, how do you ease them into our happy club?

You can lead a smoker to vapor, but you cannot make them vape. (Or is that horses?)

I've seen a number of folks switch, but all that did wanted it to work and were willing to experiment and keep trying.

The ones who I've seen start and go back to cigs wanted it to work, but were unwilling to experiment and keep trying. One had her husband load the juice and charge her batteries and did not want to change the way she inhales the vapor as compared to a cigarette. One got stuck in the, "It has to taste EXACTLY like my cigarettes that I hate to smoke.", mode so they got stuck with the cigarettes they hate.

One only wanted it for traveling. Since she uses it during travel it is working for her, but she is not ready to leave the cigarettes. Being a deployed with the US Army now, anyway, I'm not sure that saving her lungs is a high priority. I gave her a couple of starter kits and some juice and took her to the airport. Hopefully when she gets home, and I can give her that crazy dog back, she might want to consider switching.

The others I have seen go back to smoking all did the same thing. Got going vaping and then thought that the addiction was "cured" and stopped vaping. Along with stopping vaping they threw or gave away their stuff. They all smoke now.

I have to fight the temptation to push vaping or come off like a slick salesman with the latest snakeoil. I just vape and let them ask questions. I see better results if I lead by example than then a guide, if they ask, than anything else.
