I am having trouble with my Joye 510. I keep getting the burnt atty taste as if there is no juice at all in my carts. I am refilling with juice more often thank I feel like I should, but not sure what the issue might be. Also, I have a few flavored juices and I seem to get little or no taste from them other than smoke. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have had the same problem with a few 901 attys. 3 to 4 drags and it has a burnt taste. After about a week this started to clear up in both of them. I am still pretty new to this so it may be my imagination but I think sometimes they just need to be broken in. I have tried many different ways to clean them but nothing got the burnt taste out except just pushing through and using it for a little while. There is a thread on this forum somewhere that goes into more detail about this. just do a search and I am sure you will find the thread

Keep it wet (but not flooded) that should speed up any processes it needs to go through. So do waht cdr says and drip a couple drops on the bridge.
Also make sure your cart filler hasnt worked itself down too far inside the cart (if it has wiggle it up using a cocktail stick or toothpick) - it needs to be just a hair under the cart lip so it conencts witht he bridge when you attach it.

I was suprised at how often I had to refill the cart on my 510 - usually every 20 minutes or so i would put 3 or 4 drops in. Make sure that the cart stays moist, it should look slushy but not like a swimming pool.

The 510 uses a lot of liquid and the carts don't wick very well - if you taste the atomizer going dry or get a burning taste then you need to top up.

You are right about the cart filler being pretty lousy at wicking. I am trying the PTB mod tonight, so mayb that will help. I think the juice is kind of lousy too.

If the juice is no good it will taste bad all the time.

If you're using VG it makes the wicking issues much worse.

I tried blue foam, spring mod and the no filler mod and all of them substituted 1 problem for another - the answer with the 510 is dripping. you can get drip tips from chinese sites for less than $5.

I highly reccomend trying it out - eastmall.net has delrin tips for very cheap.

oh... don't drip if you are using auto batteries though.

Good luck with the PTB mod - never tried that one but lots of people seem to like it.

The cart filler needs to be roughly half of what you see in a fresh cart. That, in MOST cases is the issue with all e cigs...ALL OF EM. The ability to wick isnt like an analog. Analogs, the hotter the better until you get to cotton. With E cigs, its time to wick. SO filler must allow fluid to move the speed you vape, or you slow down your vape. Ideally, you do both. Vape easy. A couple draws, then take a minute. Slow and steady will always vape better than fast and hard. Sounds backwards, but e cigs are opposite to analogs in every way. With fluffed up batting, you can still chain vape a bit, just need to give an occasional tap to the cart like kicking a horse and saying "GIDDE-UP"" If in question, top it off. :D
