Hey everyone!!!!

Looks like we have:

The east to west group which would run from Buffalo to Syracuse with the Rochester area being a fairly central meeting place.

The southern tier area from Syracuse to Binghamton with the Ithaca area being a fairly central meeting place.

The northern tier which would at least include Plattsburgh and Glens Falls....which I really don't know much about that area (yet).

And possibly the western tier if Heather finds more vapers in that area.

I'm thinking the first meet would be a one day thing....get to know each other....then plan for the next meet....with overnighters at some possible point.

And anyone is invited to any meet, depending on how far you want to travel.

So how does this sound so far?

I think this is great! I actually was going to post something like a meetup in Rochester for members close to that area sometime soon. I love the idea of getting to meet some of the wonderful people on this forum. Rob.

The meet would probably be too far for me on the places already mention as I live way up by the Canadian border. But I will watch this to see what happens.

Well, it looks like we have several people already interested in a meet. I think we should definitely try to get together and maybe then we could discuss more about the different regions and getting things going for each one... Of course that's just me thinking out loud... which is definitely an imperfect process LOL

You probably didn't see this because it was a social group, not a forum, so it didn't show up on the front page. I didn't see it either before. I think Heather pointed it out to me? Anyhoo...I turned it into a forum for more exposure...so spread the word any way you can!

So are you up by Plattsburgh....or more toward the Niagara Falls/Buffalo area?

So last night, I went into VB and did a search for members with NY in their location. Can you imagine how many there were?

So here's how it went:

1) I only got to the S's before my brain went into major meltdown (of course, it was almost 2AM, besides ) I hope to finish them tonite.

2) You would not believe how many were in our areas! Found a bunch in Buffalo and Rochester....a few in Ithaca and Binghamton....and even a few up north. It was great! I invited them all!

3) I looked up every location I was not familiar with so I could see if it was in one of our areas. That probably took the most time.

4) I did not send invites to those who just listed "NY" as their location because I had no idea where they were and that would have been a lot of work. I suppose a lot of them were from Downstate anyway.

5) So right now, I hope all those with "NY" as their location somehow see us and join if they want. And I know there's a bunch who don't even put their location. No way to reach out to them, so hopefully they'll see us too.

And just for a bit of optimism....there were 9 members when I joined a few days ago and now we have 27....woot! Sometimes these things take time but we'll get there!

WOW whoohoo there were only 4 when I joined a month ago and one of those was my husband... so not sure that really counts for me LOL

So I finished the VB list last night. We now have 30 members! There are also 57 pending invites. Not sure what to expect out of those because a lot of them haven't logged in since last month....but I included them anyway, just in case. So we do the best with what we have, and keep an eye out for any newbs in our areas.

I see his kind of stuff takes a lot of motivation

Heather, maybe you can try to get something started for a Buffalo area meet for one of the last 2 weekends in Sept? I figure if Rochester is 9/11, you might want to go to that one....then plan one up in your area for another weekend.

You have what, 4 or 5 of you up there now? It's a start!

I'm going to try to get something started in Ithaca for one of those weekends too.

I'll definitely attend the one in rochester!! And yes I can work toward one in this area.

Maybe there would be a way to identify and indicate contact people for the different regions... I would certainly volunteer as a contact person for the western region (if that's where I'm needed )

I just made a post in the S-I-B thread. Maybe you could start something like that in the Western Tier thread? How far are you actually from Buffalo? I would throw up a couple of dates in that thread...and try to figure out a central area...or where the others would be willing to meet.

As you can see, it takes a while...so starting now might be wise

I think the list of contacts will become clearer as we go along.

I'm about 30 minutes from buffalo as the crow flies... as the roads go it's probably more like 40 minutes but... thats not far. Guess I'll have to delve even further into the forum... LOL I'll do what I can. (WOW this melon juice from awesome vapor is GOOD!!! )
