I been vaping awhile now, and started using the hellvape dead rabbit v3 rta a few months ago. It came stocked with I believe fused Clapton coils?.. anyways those are basically the only coils i like that i have tried. Can't bring myself to pay $15 shipping for a $5 coil so I got what they had at the vape shop which is framed staple coils. They looked close to the claptons, so i got them. But idk if it's bc I got it on a dual coil build right now or if it's just the coils, but these coils ramp up time is suuuppperrr slow....like i cant hardly get a hit at all? I'm confused. Maybe I'm doing something wrong having these thick boys on a dual build? I even cranked it to 90 watts just to try to get somethin lol. Just wanted to ask is there anything i can do to help this? I like my vape warm around .15 or .2 ohms at about 70 watts is my sweet spot. And I would like to get these to heat up faster man this sucks and I'm stuck with 6 sets until next payday. Also is it possible to take the Clapton off of there and use it better? IDK probly weird question but j/w lol. Thank anyone for your help I really appreciate it ✌️

Hello, cloudy_days, and welcome!

If you're not against the idea of winding your own coils, there are a few places where you can pick up spools of Clapton wire.

Wire Optim has 25' spools in various configurations, though I don't think they have an exact match for Hellvape coils. You can get close though and tune the coils in a little by adding or subtracting a wrap or changing the inner diameter.
A 25' spool should give you at least 25 pairs of coils, maybe more depending on how thrifty you are with wire.
The spools run about $12-$30.

A coil winding kit can be nice to have, but you can just wind your own around a drill bit, screwdriver, or nail once you find the size that you like.

Wire Optim runs sales often, usually at least 30% off of wire and tools. They also sell premade coils if you do not want to wind your own. (10 packs run about $10-$15)

(I just went to check for the spool/pack prices and saw that they are having a 40% off sale right now)

There are other brands/shops out there as well, but I've only used them so far. (I've been using RTAs for a little over a year now, so not the most experienced or informed)

Good luck!

Hey man thanks so much for all the info I really appreciate it! And ya I actually picked up a spool of some 26 gauge kantal wire and experimented with wrapping some coils...it's not that I was bad at it, but I just wasn't getting the same flavor and vapor when I made my own single or twisted versions. I would like to learn to make claptons, but my drill doesn't work right where I can slide it in the end and i cant get it to stay, and I think I need some higher gauge wire also to make them. but thank you so much for helping me and hooking me u with a website i hate trying to rind legit online stores. I will definitely check it out and maybe I can be on my way to make my own and never worry bout it again! Lol. Thanks again so much!

They actually have Clapton wire, so you can pick up a spool of that, rather than winding your own. That's too much hassle for me.
