In the event yours did go poof and does not return, I did have it on my hd here as mentioned before. I uploaded it to image shack incase you need/want it. I know how attached we can be to an avatar

PM me if you want it via another method, email etc.

Yep it's a simple matter of redoing your avatar evidently it got lost in the switch.

Mine came back on its own this afternoon. So I'm not sure if it HAS to be reloaded manually. Maybe you just have to wait.

I'm getting a vbulletin message about a temporary file failing to write.

I'm getting this same message whether I try to put it in my 'profile picture' part or the part that actually says avatar

I'm trying to use an image I found online and I'm certain its small enough (150x150 and 5k -- it happens to be those specifications exactly in fact)

Yes I was very frustrated too! I knew the site was down for maintenance but did not know it was the cause of us all losing our avatars. Actually, I wasn't even sure that we all did lose them. I first noticed it right after doing a security update on my computer, so I was worried that the update had something to do with it and wouldn't allow me to see the images.

Almost 11:30 pm here and I'm getting old so off to la la land for me kids.

I lost mine too... but it didn't come back on it's own.
Tried to add a new one but I kept getting this:
