Hi Again Loving this Insight in this forum, Question on Vaping too much ...side effects

Good morning all, I have learned already that you have to drink plenty of water due to the hydration issues which are caused by vaping. Also when you vape too much nicotine, you can get a bad headaches and to just chill on your vape until your headache calms down.

The new questions are can vaping throughout the day as I do as my desk at work, then when I get home, can it cause you to get very anxious, and not be able to sleep. I'm not vaping every 5 minutes but I will do some nice drags on it every 20 minutes or so. I am a bad sleeper as it is, but my chest has been a little tight for two days I think due to the lack of sleep, I haven't slept more than 3 hours in the past three nights and I'm exhuasted, but wired at the same time...don't feel great.

Also can nicotine cause circulation issues in extremites, such as people like myself that have had surgeries for carpal tunnel, my fingers feel a little more numb.

Does anyone have any insight on this.:glare:

If you are having trouble sleeping then try using a lower strength juice in the evenings.

The chest tightness is probably a side effect of quitting analogs, but it could be a mild PG reaction, if it doesn't go away try get a juice that has more VG in it.

I can't really answer about the circulation issues, but nicotine is a stimulant, so maybe you need to just lower your nic strength overall?

Though if it seems serious I'd suggest seeing your doctor about it :)

Too much nicotine can cause the effects you are experiencing. Sounds like you need to use juice with less nic in it. I was a very heavy smoker and I vape juice that's only 10mg or 1%. I was surprised I only needed 10mg juice. Been vaping that strength for quite some time now.

Nicotine does restrict blood flow so that could be a problem. You can vape juice with zero nicotine if you want to or have to. That's something you should consult with a doctor about.

Reports of mild insomnia when new to vaping are legion, but the remedy is simple enough: switch to low (or no) nic liquids in the late afternoon/evening hours.

Nicotine is, of course, a vasoconstrictor (vasoconstrictor - definition of vasoconstrictor in the Medical dictionary - by the Free Online Medical Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.), but only to the minimal extent as is caffeine. If, however, you have pre-existing circulation issues, the use of low-to-no nic liquids at all hours of the day seems prudent.

Hi
From my own experience I can tell you that to begin with I felt like I was almost suffocating using PG liquid and switched to VG and this went away. I also had chest pain which I guess was a type of heart burn from the nicotine, I do still get this occasionally but not so much, I suffered lack of sleep but I think most people do when they quit analogs. What is you nicotine strength? I only use 18 but I am planning to switch to 12/11 in a few days as part of my plan to quit nicotine completely by 3 months.
Just to let you know that another person has had some of the things that you seem to get, having said that if you have any concerns you really should seek medical advice to check you don't have any other issue regarding circulation etc.
Good luck

also at first the technique of vaping is not perfected either. i was sucking too hard, couldnt get the throat hit, not clearing the condensation buildup. i had a serious headache for part of one day, dont know what caused that but it was like my first full day vaping so understandable.

now i can still get a headache but this headache is different. i recognise it now as nico overdose and have had it with analogs too, i put the ecig down when i get this, have something to eat/drink if i overvape like this - it helps! however self control on overvaping has been a problem

i found the early days of vaping to be tiresome in that it takes alot of researching to become comfortable with future supplies, flavours, general logistics etc this was an unwanted burden

i have had trouble sleeping since before vaping, i used to smoke analogs around bedtime aswell. i have not noticed any difference in my sleeping patterns, ive always slept late and organised later work hours. it might be an idea to stop vaping at a set time before bed.

i hope something from my experience can help you

Hi,
I agree with the previous posters. I just wanted to say that there are new anti smoking commercials going around. I don't know if they are national or only in Colorado, but they do show people who have supposedly lost limbs, half of the legend fingers, from smoking. As others have said, nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, but to lose limbs because of nicotine or cigarette use by itself seems far fetched. There were probably other things in play with the smoking such as diabetes. This is just my opinion and I'm not a doctor but have medical experience. Please speak with your doctor.

Did you experience the numbness with cigarettes too? It is said that we aren't getting as much nicotine as we did with cigarettes so IMO it would make sense that you would have it with the cigs too.

I would definitely cut back on the nic level or control your vaping more if it's causing anxiety symptoms.

thank you for the info. I am using 18mg. I think because I'm due to order I will try a 10mg that may be the issue. I love the vaping though it tastes so much better to me now than my actual analogs did. I'll let ya know.

I have no heart issues, I am in perfect health other than surgical stuff that I had and hit the gym steady doing cardio and weight lifting 3 times a week, so I think I'm to high on the mg...thank you so much

Common too-much-nic symptoms

- headache
- rapid or irregular heartbeat
- cold or tingling fingertips etc
- hazy ill feeling
- insomnia

Common too much nic irritation symptoms (cause by using high nic, or vaping too much, or juices with nic in 100% PG - a bit of VG would help buffer it)
- bleeding gums (if you are pulling vapor stream onto your gums or have liquid/residue on the mouth end). I use cartomizer+drip tip to bring the vapor in beyond my teeth and in a wider stream
- sore tongue, through, or even lungs

Dehydration - vaping is drying - you have to stay hydrated with non-alcoholic liquids
Dehydration can cause fatigue, ill feeling, dry mucus membranes more prone to irritation, and worse

---

I generally use 80PG/20VG juices which work nicely in my cartomizers (though when my nic was higher I used 70PG/20VG). I worked my nic down a step at a time over a few months and got it low enough so I can vape more when I want to and not get the headache and cold/tingly fingertips. And I just don't let myself vape all the time. I set the ecigs down on the desk at work, and at home I leave the ecigs in a nearby room - I only put one next to me if I expect to be on the computer or elsewhere away from the room for more than 20 minutes.

I do not know if my vaping qualifies as "chain vaping", but I do know that I can drain a 900mAh battery flat in a day's time. Some days, I can even drain an 1100mAh battery.

The first couple of weeks using 18mg/ml juice pretty heavily, I found myself flat out unable to sleep more than in little snatches. By late evening time, I would feel a sort of "zzztt zzztt zzzztttt" buzz thing going on with the right side of my skull, near my ear. I do not know how to describe the "noise" more than that, except to say it was more of a physical sensation, rather than an actual audible sound. And it was annoying! And occasionally, I saw little flashes of light. (I have glaucoma as well as a couple of large brain cysts that mess with my vision, so it is possible these are what is causing the flashes, but it is worse when I am tanked on nicotine).

So now, at least 4 hours before bedtime, I switch over to 6mg/ml juice and my sleep has improved immensely. It is seldom a good night's sleep as I have rarely had one of those in a very long time, (since well before taking up vaping), but at least, they do not qualify as cat naps now.

Long story short - get some lower % nicotine juice to vape when you are having issues with too much nicotine in your system. It can be a terribly fine line to walk - getting enough nicotine to keep the analog cravings at bay, yet not getting so much nicotine that it causes adverse effects on your system.
