i've been vaping for about 3 weeks now. luckily, once i started using my ecig i didn't want analogs at all. (i would think, gee i want to smoke and then go 'duh ecig'. but i never had a craving for an actual analog) i will admit that the first two days i smoked one each day out of pure habit mostly.

but yes, i do vape a lot more than i smoked. i don't have to, i just like to. while i would be perfectly content to just hold the thing in my mouth all day long, my man would prefer that i don't end up constantly on it. a good part of that is because i'd go through supplies a lot faster. so i only vape outside (when he's home anyway heh)...like i would have only smoked outside. if you're worried about the amount you vape, then i think it does help to tell yourself you're only going to do it under the same conditions you would as if you were smoking. and for me at least, i don't have cravings from it because i can always get up and go outside. yes i stay outside more than the 5 min i would for an analog, but i also don't stay out there for 30 min just because i don't want to be outside that long lol.

just remember that you are replacing an old habit with a new one and decide what an acceptable limit for you.

In a study from Zachary Cahna,* and Michael Siegelb--Department of Political Science, University of California at Berkeley, and Department of Community Health Sciences, Boston University School of Public
Health

Nicotine delivery and reduction in cigarette craving
was much less than with a regular cigarette
. Eissenberg20 found that
10 puffs on one brand of electronic cigarettes delivered a small
amount of nicotine, again far less than a tobacco cigarette, whereas
another brand delivered little to none. The first brand was able to
significantly reduce cigarette craving.
Taken together, this evidence suggests that electronic cigarettes are
capable of reducing cigarette craving, but that the effect is not due
exclusively to nicotine.

good catch....
liked the comparison of analogs with electronic cigs....not a few times heard quoted about analogs "over 4,000 ingredients-- 40 known carcinogens" BUT seems worst than that when it comes to chemicals and ingredients....

Review of Evidence Regarding the Safety of Electronic Cigarettes

As ~5300 of the estimated 10,000–100,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke have ever been identified, we already have more comprehensive knowledge of the chemical constituents of electronic cigarettes than tobacco ones. We were able to identify 16 studies that have characterized, quite extensively, the components contained in electronic cigarette liquid and vapor using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) (Table 1). These studies demonstrate that the primary components of electronic cigarette cartridges are propylene glycol (PG), glycerin, and nicotine.......

even though other ingredients other than PG, glycerin and nicotine were found they actually KNEW what they were.....compare that to analogs....roughly 5300 chemicals identified of an estimated 10,000-100,000!!!

I found when I thought I was vaping to much and getting to much nic., I started topping my cart.with straight vg till the flavor started getting to mild then a couple drops of good stuff and good to go for awhile. That way I didn't worry about vaping to much or the nic. being to strong. And after 52 yrs of smoking, I'll glue it to my lips to keep me from analogs again LOL

I'm glad you broached the subject, because I wondered if I was vaping too much myself...I use 24mg/ml, and I always felt my body would give me cues if and when to back off the drip tip; I've never really gotten that cue, so I continue. I'm not trying to make myself sick by any stretch of the imagination, but my vaping habits do seem to top my smoking frequency by a considerable margin.

Oh well, I'm sated. And warm (it's COLD out :)).

Vape On!
