Hi all,

Just got my kit yesterday and started vaping already. So far very good, really cut down on my normal ciggies by a lot! I have a few questions to ask, was wondering if anyone can help.

I see too many types of juices, can be quite confusing. Do I need to purchase juice and nicotine seperately?

Can someone help ID my cig. I will post up a pic. Curious to know what’s the brand. I got my friend to order from his workplace, hence didn’t know which kit I was getting. My friend also got me an additional atomizer which is supposed to be better I think.

Thanks all

For juice, check out Vapedudes.com

They have good juice and reasonable prices. They also have a couple of really good coupons. Then first is FBFREE, that will get you a free 10ml bottle. They only accept 15 a day, so if it doesn't work, try the next day. The other is VAPEDUDES, that will get you 40% off your order. You can use both coupons on the same order, if you use it in conjunction with their 5 bottle package, you can get 6, 10ml bottles for $18, shipping included.

Looks like an eGo to me... does it have any small etching on the bottom cap or near the bottom like this:

As for the juice question:

If you are buying juice from a juice maker or local shop, it should already be mixed and ready to vape. Now if you are making your own you will have to purchase the nicotine, flavorings, PG and/or VG and make the juice.

Some places sell juice with PG/VG mixed and with zero nicotine.. some people use this to mix with other flavors that have nicotine already added or add their desired amount.

The ready made juices usually just come with flavor and your choice of nicotine level in percentages or mg per ml or both. Example :

If it doesn't have Joyetech etched in the metal, then it's a knock-off. Not a bad thing. The only problem would be what kind of thread setup it has. If that is and eGo 510 clearomizer on it, then that would be the best. What exactly is your concern? Getting stuff to use with it yourself?

nope, no joyetech etched in the metal, it's bare. doesn't have ego etched on it too. yep you're right, with knowing the type of kit i have, at least i could read up a bit on the parts and on other maintenance tips.

Welcome to ECF, sidewayz! Glad to have you aboard!

You basically have an ego battery, non-branded... but no worry at all... it should last you a fairly long time.

If you're looking for e-juice, I recommend Vape Dudes... they have lots of choices and you can customize them to your liking...

Good luck and Happy Vaping!!

Looks like an ego knockoff to me with a stardust on it. It could be a chrome KGO, which is better than the average EGO device, with an output of 4.18 volts, but with these pics there is no way to be sure. It's not the worst vape on the block but nor is it the best. Don't you know what you bought based on the receipt of your purchase? The Stardust is also called the EGO Vision Clearomizer. They are, personally, the bane of my existence because they require frequent maintenance, crack a lot, and the coils come together through no fault of my own and create, for me at least, a terrible vaping experience. I would look to the Vision Vivi Nova as the next step up...

Excellent tips, thanks all!

just wondering what kind of clearomizer do I have and how do I go about cleaning it before i change to another flavored juice?

Unfortunately, the type of clearomizer you have can't be disassembled and cleaned properly without causing other issues. Although, I have toyed around with filling them up with 91% isopropyl alcohol, shake well, flush with warm water, and then let it dry for a day or more. It tends to work, but not like a fresh one.

There are tons of devices out there, some better than others, and you will see 6 different opinions of each one. Your best bet is to go to Youtube and watch some reviews. Very entertaining. Go check out and subscribe to Phil Busardo (pbusardo). That guy is a natural entertainer and gets really in-depth. Another good set is Scott Bonner (igetcha69). There are others that are very well done (GrimmGreen, LordDavon) and you will eventually get a pretty good idea of which ones are worth watching. Take the time to do some homework, it's well worth it.

Good luck and keep at it.

It's a Stardust with the Long Wick. They are rebuildable BUT are VERY tough to take apart and you have to buy wick and wire separately and rewind it yourself- have done it and takes about 20 mins and the worst part is taking it apart. There are now the newer version Stardusts....when the wick and coil need replacing simply unscrew old head and screw in new head- takes about 5 secs.

You have to buy the extra heads separately. Most vendors sell the Stardust and heads- link below is just for info purposes:

As for cleaning I remove the drip tip and pull the silicon cap out with tweezers or needle nose pliers and soak in PGA for 1-2 hrs. Rinse with water and let dry overnight. Mine are lasting about 3-4 weeks. Have used the Vivi Nova and basically the same experience except doesn't look as nice on PV as Stardust does. ALL clearos do mute the flavor and use lottsa juice.

Excellent tips, thanks all!
