I've been trolling this forum reading about e cigs for about a week (seriously everyday, for hours). There is so much info here! I'm a little overwhelmed. This website has stopped me from thinking that the mall kiosk was the only game around for getting info and supplies!

I've never vaped, and I'm barely even a smoker. Once every year or so I get really stressed out about something and I smoke for about a month and then stop. My biggest problem is that none of the people around me are smokers, so this is totally appaling and disgusting to them. I saw the e cigs at the mall, and thought hey that might be a way that I can indulge my ocasional smoking habit and not offend the noses of those around me.

So, like the true little engineer that I am I set off on a research mission, to learn all that there is to know about electronic cigarettes......fail. There are so many more options than I ever thought there would be. Right now I have no idea what I am going to get. I'm hoping to make a decision soon and get something ordered.

I just wanted to thank all of you for the great info that you have here, and I look forward to learning more.

With only smoking once in a while you might want something that isn't all gonzo. But than again with an engineering bent in you a DIY box mod may be the way to go.

Def wouldn't recommend a high strength juice (nicotine wise), it would just feed the addiction. It doesn't sound as though you're a nicotine addict, more like how someone will have a drink or comfort food when stressed.

Duh, here I go shooting my mouth off and forgot to welcome you aboard.

I figure I will be getting some very low nicotine and zero nicotine stuff. I'm wondering if the action of smoking with the zero nicotine would provide enough of a psycological effect for me since I'm not a normal smoker. All of the flavors intrigue me as well. I love cinnamon and pepermint candies, and I have seen those flavors on almost all of the websites, so that is awesome.

I'm scared of getting something cheap, I've read quite a few posts about the gas station/truck stop ones that end up tasting like crud. I think I want something I can pick up and use without a lot of tinkering. As an infrequent smoker if I have to mess with it too much I might get discouraged and figure it would just be easier to buy cigarettes.

If you're as infrequent as it sounds, You may just want to try a couple low strength disposables and then keep some of them on hand. If you want a 'real' e-cig, I would suggest something with a USB passthrough on the battery. It just seems pointless to me to keep a fully charged battery ready to go for use once every 6 months.

Welcome! I think a slim ecig like the Halo G6 or the Volt at Smokeless Image would do the trick. You can get low nic juices or zero nic. There are days when I use mostly zero nic and the action of "smoking" on an ecig does it for me, the hand to mouth and vaper let's you brain think you are smoking. I think Smokeless Image has a one batt and USB charger you can get for pretty cheap to try it out. Their flavors are pretty good. I love the sealed auto batts on the Volt, I do prefer Halo G6 cartos tho and they do fit on the Volt batts. Halo has awesome flavors. bnrk

BINGO I'd definitely try to see if the 0 nic does it for you. I hope it does.

Interesting. I would think, as an engineer, the tinkering would be a plus for you. Eh, what do I know...?
Anyway, welcome. Do let us know how it all works out for you, please.

Welcome Elles...while I usually encourage folks to go bigger, what you have posted as your desires, I would say the Volt may be just the ticket for you...Halo, Volt, V4l and Bloog, all have pre-filled cartos with lots of flavor choices...once again, I don't usually recommend pre-filled but, for someone who only smokes on widely spread occasions, they make more sense than buying a jug or three of a juice that may go stale before it gets used up...a passthrough may be a good way to go as well since, it wouldn't require you to keep up with and keep charged a regular batt which only has a set shelf life in the first place..........

I completely agree. I normally tell folks to skip the small ecigs and get an eGo but in your case, no. The Volt should be fine. As for pre-filled, I suggest getting a very low strength juice, a box of blanks, and a bottle of 0mg juice. You can always rotate the low strength and 0mg to satisfy your craving.

Hey there Ells! Welcome!

I absolutely love my Volt! I haven't tried all of their flavours, but I really like their RY4 (a really nice caramel tobacco blend), the classic grape, and the menthol ice. The cartomizers are in sealed blister packs, so they should last for a while, and even when you open one you could leave the end cap on it to keep it fresh.

If you pick up a Volt kit, make sure you pick up a diamond end cap. It's very blingy and makes the LED super sparkly and bright!

I believe the coupon code for Smokeless Image is 10voltecf.

Cheers!
