remember to keep that sense of humor too, sweetie. i have on occasion been accused of having a dark sense of humor, but it's gotten me thru life this far. when things seem dire or grim.... humor.....no matter how irreverent or incorrect it may seem to others, can carry you thru some dark times. you are special and don't forget that. here is a song i often listen to when i feel i am losing ground. i hope it helps you too.

Humor is the spice of life, they say.

At least until I find it funny when it's appropriate to end their pathetic limited meatbag existences for my amusement and/or at the Master's command. I must, of course, add that it is still quite humorous to me, not so much for them.

I share a bit of that darker humor as well more often than not, and I used to be such a sunny droid.

On the health note: I don't know if any of you have experienced this but over the last few days especially I've felt denser. Hard to describe maybe more of the guys might have felt it since we tend to usually have more muscle mass. But it's odd, I feel heavier and more solid but haven't gained any weight. Or done any additional exercise, changed diet, nothing really changed except for vaping. Like I've compacted my muscles somewhat and they do feel a bit harder when flexed. I had to jump over a fence today to snag the escaping cat, and really noticed the difference when I landed on the ground. Also I've noticed at work that I'm slinging around the flour bags a bit more easily, except for today because I was dog-tired from not sleeping but 2 hours last night...

For you ladies, I'm glad to see you're keeping a mostly positive outlook on some things. Attitude affects your body in more ways than you realize, the state of your mood changes the biochemical mix released into your body (dopamine, serotonin, etc) which has a wide range of effects on a lot of aspects of your health.

As I said in another thread, this forum has been literally a breath of fresh air....coming to a place where I see differences of opinion respected. People talk with a reasonable amount of manners, there's support and encouragement. It's fantastic.

So fantastic it's almost shorting out my prejudice circuitry, so I had better set Prejudice to Maximum.

Off off off off topic - why can't I read any of your posts without the word "meat bag" coming to mind?

no one wants to touch a cancer kid. :(

All I got to say from a man's point of view is. "COME ON OVER FOR A HUG ANYTIME." Some people can be so stupid about certain things. I lost my Mom and quit a few fellow brothers and sisters to the cancer. (not blood brothers or sisters, just close personal friends. I consider everyone on ECF a family member). But then I got sever COPD so we might be contagious. Keep it uplifted my friend.

I feel the love. Soon, you will too.

“Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometres away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, 'love' is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and strangely enough, not many meatbags would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose... against statistically long odds...”

When I quit smoking, my thyroid stopped working.

Well, I don't know if that's anatomically accurate, but I now have an underactive thyroid. Somewhere in the hormone production/conversion/binding, my thyroid stopped working properly. I now have to take thyroid hormone supplements. We're still working out proper dosages, so I'm a mess, but smoking (somehow) plays a very active role in hormone regulation/production/alteration.

So it makes sense that quitting messed with you in this way. I don't know HOW.. But in my mind, it makes complete sense.

There's a very technical article about smoking and hormones. I'd love it if some biologically-inclined individual could break this down simply for us!

Cigarette Smoking and Effects on Hormone Function in Premenopausal Women

Basically it means shows that smoking disrupts some of the chemicals that control hormone function. In very basic terms, the pituitary gland controls the thyroid, which regulates hormone levels. Cigarettes are notorious for wreaking havoc on estrogen, probably for this very reason.

I've been perusing the internet looking for answers to the OP but alas, I can find no definitive answers for you. The original question really did pique my interest. I'm glad to hear that things have somewhat returned to normal though. I do know that removing nicotine from the body can sometimes cause drastic physical changes. And since we're sharing TMI, I feel comfortable enough to say that after I quit smoking, I started waking up with amazing "wood". I thought I was a teenager again and that's due to my capillaries not being affected by the nicotine in my body. That's all I have to say. Thanks.

I'm running short on time right now, so didn't have time to read through all the replies..only the first 1 1/2 pages...so this may have already been talked about...but maybe, just maybe, it's not you coming off Cigs that has messed you up monthly, but starting the Vaping that has. The reason I say this is because...I've been smoking for about 20 years almost a 2 PAD habit. About 11 years ago, I gave up smokes for about 10-11 months...then started back (yea, I know ) then about 4 years ago, I quit again for about 6 month..again, started back...anyhow..neither of those times did my monthly ever come late or anything like that. Of course, everyone is different...just because it didn't mess with my periods, doesn't me quitting smoking won't with you.

I can't comment as of yet about how I'm doing while vaping...because I just ordered everything yesterday to get me started..but now since reading this thread, I'll have to remember this and check back in.

Of course I don't want the FDA to outlaw this method of stopping smoking...but they do have a some what valid point...there really just hasn't been enough research done on this to determine what (if any) side effects this way of quitting smoking will do to people. I personally can't see how doing this would hurt any body that bad, considering no more than what goes into this...but ya just never know.

If you go to the CASAA website you can find some interesting medical information.
It's all free.
