Hi all, I have started vaping very recently with a cheap 650mah Ce4 kit off Amazon and a couple E-juices. Before that i've been smoking cigarettes and its definitely bad for me to keep smoking cigs. Im new to all of this.

Recently i have bought a mini protank clone off Amazon and right away it has a Burnt taste, Need some assistance with that.

Also the basics of cleaning the clearomizer?

ive gotten a ce4 or the like before and it had a burnt taste no matter what. but your best chance will be to make sure the wick and coil are well saturated. and when you are vaping make sure that you tilt it that way the liquid is able to hit the coil. and as far as cleaning you can use grain alcohol like everclear. though i never have. ive always just used water and let it dry out and dry burned it. or you could just dry it best possible and put liquid in it. it will take a while for all the water to evaporate but just keep at it and it will pull though.

I don't have the clone, but a general rule of thumb with the genuine Kanger atomizer heads is to remove at least one or both of the flavor wicks that sit on top of the coiled wick. Pop off the chimney and silicone cap on the atomizer (after unscrewing it from the base) you'll see two wicks, take one out. Replace the chimney and the silicone cap. Screw everything back together. Screw on the tank to your battery and give it a few short unpowered primer puffs and if the bubbles rise, you know that your coils are beginning to wick. Hope this helps!

On the protank, did you let the liquid soak in for a few and then give it a couple puffs without pressing the button? This always helps with new coils.

If you have a spare try that or clean the old one in hot water and let dry for a few.

I'm doing fine with the ce4 since im only first starting and its decent enough. However with the clone protank i did let it sit, it still burned and the taste is nasty. Im pretty sure its not the juice since it works fine with my other ce4 + 650 ego combo. Is it bad if i let it soak in cold water instead of hot? I did a newbie mistake there.

The juice is not wicking quickly enough for the power level you are using.

When you put a new coil in and fill the tank, allow the wicks time to saturate. I often prime the wick by putting some drops of juice directly on the wick before filling a tank.

If you have a battery/device with variable voltage, turn it down low when you put an attachment on it, then gradually dial it up until you reach the best vapor and flavor results. If you do not have variable voltage, you might try using a coil with higher resistance.

If juice is still not wicking fast enough, remove one or more of the extra "flavor wicks" that lie on top of the coil inside the head (do not remove the wick that runs through the coil itself). To open up the head, remove the silicone collar and set it aside (be careful not lose it or allow it to roll down a drain). Wiggle the "chimney" back and forth and tug it off the coil base. If you need to, you may use needle nose pliers, but be careful not to mangle the metal pieces. Set the chimney aside. The extra wicks are now exposed. When you're done, replace the chimney and silicone collar.

I rinse all the parts in warm water and dry them before refilling a tank. Whenever I refill a tank, I remove the coil head I've been using and put in a new or recently cleaned one. The used one goes into a dish of cheap vodka (other people use cheap grain alcohol or just water) to soak for several hours.

I've been hearing alot about "Dry-pulls" and "Dry-Burning", Is it just to let it burn or such?
Dry pulls or dry hits refer to occasions when you inhale but there's not enough juice on the coil.

Dry burning is a form of cleaning coils. There are lots of YouTube videos illustrating this. I don't use this method, personally.

Does Dry pull or dry hit affects the coil or battery life?
In addition to tasting unpleasant, dry hits may reduce the life span of your coil. When we're vaping, we often press the button for 4 to 10 seconds at a time. If there's not enough juice on the coil while we're doing that, the coil might degrade faster. (Or so I've been told. Veterans, please feel free to correct this.)

(When people dry burn their coils to clean them, they only press the button for a couple of seconds at a time, not 4 to 10 seconds.)

dry pulls would be taking a drag without firing the mod and that would help create a vacuum and suck liquid to your coils. and a dry burn would be burning your coil without liquid on it and without taking a drag.

so correct me if i'm wrong since i'm quite the noob to this, but what i do when it starts tasting a bit burnt is i do cigar like puffs to draw the liquid into the wicks and it usually works. if it continually tastes burnt, i take that atomizer and boil it in water and dry it and its good as new. hope this helps
