Hello everyone.

I tried vaping last week and intend to replace cigarette smoking with vaping. I've read so much in the past few days that my mind is boggled.

I need some advice from experienced vapers. I want to start out with a passable bit of kit that I'll get decent use out of in the long run. I live in Australia, so I'll need the rundown on how to avoid any importation pitfalls.

I've been looking on cloud 9 vaping and they seem pretty good. Is the postage to Au expensive?

I've been looking at the EMOW kit. It's got a glass bottle and a high capacity battery which sound like must haves. Is that good bang for buck starter gear?

Been doing this 5 years Mate, spent way more $ than I should have........my advice is to pick up a Subox mini kit, some 30 amp batteries, and a 10$ Nitecore charger ,and some juice of your choice ......100$ US. I'm sure many more here at ECF will give pointers as well...youre in a good place here , much good advice, best to you ........PS: you've gotten into vaping at a good point as far as Devices and juice delivery, keep it simple, there's a new sub ohm tank coming out daily, don't let it confuse you .........Welcome:)

Welcome! I can imagine how intimidating the new vapers must have when reading in all these infos, i remember when i started. We barely had mods at that time. ^^And i was overwhelmed aswell back then...

Hi @Buzzzard and welcome to the forum. I'd add the iStick 30W and Nautilus Mini is a great starting outfit. You might also check out Fasttech in China (if it says AUTHENTIC in the description, it is real, if it says STYLE it is a clone...keep shopping)

I would agree with both of these, either of them are good.
Altho if you find the subox for a good price i would buy that kit.

I started on an EVOD MEGA. And I'm now on a KT Kbox. I've got both subtank nano and the subtank plus, Samsung 25a battery and a nitecore v2. Got all of this for £60. And I can say, for and advanced vaper and starter this is a brilliant kit for both. If I was yourself, go straight for a setup like this because 2-3 weeks down the line, you're gonna find that what you bought for 20 pounds just doesn't cut it anymore. Save yourself the hastle and the money. I wish I had.

It ultimately depends on your preference what kind of ecig will work for you, and you'll likely choose to upgrade in the future, but lemme ask you this. which kind did you try initially? was it a clearomizer (small pen style ecig with a clear tank) or a larger RDA/ RBA? each could work for you, and heres the basic differences: a clearo is much smaller, typically with a smaller capacity of e liquid. youll likely want a higher nicotine concentration in your e liquid if you have this kind to make up for the fact that they dont hit as hard as an RDA would. When I began vaping i switched from a pack a day of regular cigarettes to a clearo with 24mg nicotine in it. clearos are somewhat cheaper, though they dont last quite as long.

There are several vapors here from Australia maybe create another thread here stating Aussie vapor & hopefully they can walk you through the ins and outs. Welcome and good luck

Good idea, I'm going to run with that. I'm liking the look of the subox mini. Fasttech have a ten day wait on the stock. But geez the prices are good.

Just a hint, when FT got 7-10d before shipping it usualy means 20-30++
Never order an item that's out of stock or "ships in x days" you'll end up disapointed. That's usualy the main "rule" to order from FT. Ships next day is usualy what you want to look after, because then your order will ship next day. But it'll still take 2-3 weeks before you get it.

I tried a kanger evod. That's a clearomizer? I was recommended by the vaper ( she's pretty new to vaping ) to get something with a bigger battery. My personal opinion thinks I should get one that makes more "smoke". The hit was good though, just like a cigarette, but better tasting.

I would say most EGO-pens and the "perfect" clearomizers with them is dying out. I used to start out on these devices, they work but require higher nick juice to get satisfied.
Nowadays stuff like kangers subox is perfect for beginners i would say. Its quite "all in one package" Mouth to lung (1.2 ohm coil) or Lung direct hit (0.5 ohm coil) and this kit comes with both and it can go all the way to 50w (way overboard esp for a new guy ;) )

Some juices does better at 10w and some 20, it's abit of a trial and error and it also depends on the juice company you've ordered from. If you want more "smoke" (clouds) you want higher VG liquids.

PG = carries flavor the best
VG= More clouds but less flavor

MvP 3 pro
Kanger sobox

I would recommend these.
