Hello everyone,

I am a new vapor of about 3 months, started on cartos, and I keep hearing good and bad things about wick style tanks like the vivi nova. So far I only have an ego, am saving up money for a ProVari. I was wondering if there is a good wick style tank, like the vivi nova, or something else, that would look flush with an ego twist. Thank you for everyone who posts back.

Hi and welcome to ECF! I've been using a vivi nova mini on an ego for over a month now and have had no problems. I recently bought a small screw on thread cover to finish out the look. It cost about $3 and they are available from several vendors. My freedom smokes has one for $2.49 The vivi nova mini is about the same diameter as an ego.

mini vivi nova on ego. Altsmoke has genuine Vision vvn, they just repackage them in their own logo.

Hi Kowen. First weclome to the ECF. Second good question. On your eGo there are many flush fit type tanks. Theres the kanger evod, the kanger t3 (both are bottom coil) and the kanger t2, the vision mini nova(with skirt) and many other various devices. All of these have their own pluses and minuses. I prefer the vivi nova due to the fact that they are a little warmer and have less phinicky nature versus the bottom coils mentioned. Just my two pennies. Good Luck, Happy Vaping.

I know you are looking for a wick style, but I have the smoktech tanks and use a 2.0ohm carto with them. Works great at 3.8-4.2 volts (your mileage may vary), but they come with dual coil 1.5 ohm cartos so you need to buy the others seperate. The twist just doesn't have the oomph to use the DC cartos. I find this ideal on the ego batts and they provide plenty of juice for an all day vape. I'm a former pack a day smoker. Hope these other options help.

Sweet thanks guys for all your suggestions. Do any of you know where to get the vivi nova, because I don't want to get a knock off. Thanks.
Also have any of you guys tried the clearomizers from Ikenvape?

The knock off Vivi Nova I have is ok. Due to the poly tube, I can't use certain juices in it (cinnamon, fruit flavors).
Which leads me to really want a Kanger ProTank with the pyrex tube. Hopefully they'll be available soon here in the US. Also considering the Innokin iClear 30 for regular juices. I don't think I'll be getting another Viv Nova.

Hello, and welcome. As far as the looks of various vaping equipment goes, I just do a google image search for it. I cannot give proper advice, but I may be able to help you a little with what I have experienced and learned reading the forum. I like cartos just fine, but on my ego battery the T2 looks nice and flush and serves me well. The wicks are near the top (leading to the coil) and not very long on a T2. This requires you to tip the unit back every few drags to keep the wicks wet. Those are the major drawbacks to a T2 compared to other top coil units with wicks that go all the way to the bottom and bottom coil units. However, T2s are very easy to clean and are not likely to ever leak like many bottom coil units are known to do. Unless I drop the whole unit on a hard floor, I expect my T2s will have a very long life. Having found 1.5, 1.8, 2.2 , and 2.5 ohm coil units (wicks included) for a buck a piece has allowed me to try a few different options cheaply. I can usually clean the coil/wick units quite a few times, too. 2.2 ohm on an standard ego is my favorite so far. However, it is a clearomiser, so I avoid strong citrus and other e-liquids than have been known to kill a clearomiser. Wicks style clearomisers and cartos (or carto-tanks) do not provide the same flavor or general vaping experience, you will have to try them yourself to decide. Many vapers have super strong preferences between the two. Some don't care for either carto filler material or the silica wicks found in almost every brand clearomiser, and go to great lengths to rebuild their own atty and use stainless steal mesh or twice boiled natural fibers for wicks. To each his own, probably TMI for you.

Regarding my personal view on trying new equipment: as long as I am spending the same or less per month that I was wasting on analogs, after finding the right equipment for me it will soon be only juice and coils/cartos to buy and the occasional battery replacement, which is much cheaper than a pack a day smoking analogs. I'm already out of the red and into the black, so I can easily justify regularly trying new e-liquid flavors, and maybe an expensive VV/VW in a few months. Best of luck finding something you really like before wasting too much money and time.
