Hi everyone,

I’m John and I’ve been vaping for several years. I usually use a simple ego aio but they seemed to be out of stock.

I purchased a Dollar E juice club tank and have been using their juice forever. I also bought a Apollo rugged built in battery mod.

I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve tried 2 different coils and when I hit the button it just flashes 4 times at me. What can I be doing wrong?

Welcome to ECF. I'm sure someone will be along with the answer, you could try finding a youtube review, more for how to operate it, to make sure you are understanding all the lights and whatnot especially. Otherwise if it has done it from the beginning it may be faulty.

IDK in which case return it, and for mods you could probably do a whole lot better.

Welcome and good luck!

4 flashes might mean that it's telling you it is detecting a short in the atomizer or that it is not detecting the atomizer.

If you have another tank, try that and see what happens.

However, if there is nothing wrong with your atomizer, it could be the mod is defective.

Did it come with a user manual? That might tell you what the 4 flashes mean.

From various pictures I have seen, it looks like the tank they ship with this (if you buy the kit) has a 510 positive pin that protrudes a fairly good bit. It could be that the 510 positive pin on the tank you have is not making contact with the 510 positive min on the mod, therefore the mod is not detecting an atomizer. Just a guess.

Hi John,
Welcome to the ECF!

If you are using the coils that came with the tank (.5Ω and .2Ω.), it will NOT function on the Apollo.

The Apollo is rated up to 20W and has a resistance range of: 0.6-3.0ohm

With your current set up, you may be able to use something like this: ECML Head 0.75ohm (5pcs)

Hope that helps.

I think this may be your answer. That mod wasn't designed for subohm. It's only a 20 watt device. So if you put a coil on it with a resistance (ohm) rating lower than it's designed for, the mod isn't going to fire it, just like as if there is a short or no atomizer detected. This may very well be why your mod is flashing instead of working.
