With regards the smell, yep, I've been sussed at work. To avoid any hassle and stop the usual suspects from trying to sabotage any attempt a smoker may make to stop, I have been vaping in the ladies loo. Now the loo is next to the canteen which is only a tiny room and already today three people have come out into the office and said they can smell vanilla and yep I'm vaping vanilla.

going to try a different flavour every week just to see who gets it right LOL.

I just tried vanilla last week for the first time and OMG I loved it! I was out with my MIL and she ran into a store and I stayed it the car and have a few puffs. She came back out of the store and totally picked up on the vanilla smell in the car - but she really liked it. She is not a smoker. LOL I don't smoke around them if I can help it - and they would have a hissy over smoking in their car.

I've tried the mint - but I don't think it left a minty smell behind.

I read all the post entries and, contrary to my avitar, I'm far from a .....-foot...
But, I think if we want e-cig to stay available, we have to look at the art of war...
Do you want to win the battle, or do you want to win the war?

Right now we can have the best of both worlds by not pissing people off, by not being brazen, by not pushing it in "their" faces...

In my old job (now retired) there was a great question I would pose to subordinates, "What's the difference between a pig and a hog?"
"Duno.."
"Pigs get fed and hogs get slaughtered."

I think the same applies here. Target the anti's and make friends, expose them to the positives, convert them... pushing it in their faces will only be screwing ourselves.

I think doctors and employers could be our best allies. And, I think the guy with the aquarium hose is just too kewl!!! ( Miy tip lights red so I need to put the e-cig in an empty soda cup like a straw.)

New shopping list ... pet store : 6 ft. aquarium hose

There is some kind of smell. Most have told me it's very pleasant, faint and fleeting. Usually only in small enclosed spaces or blown in their face. (When asked to.) I only get the "It stinks!" from DH, but he even complains about shampoo. I've been told it makes my breath smell really good. Whatever smell is nothing compared to analogs. IMO most people who wear perfumes or cologne give off more scent and it's not as fleeting.

Vapor changes a lot. Outside/inside, device, cartridge, draw, how long I hold it. It can be as noticable or discreet as I want. HTH

I've been smoking in my college's library next to dozens of people and in a class of 40 lol.... all you need to do is breathe into your shirt. I like blowing it and hiding the cig though - people are always WTF.

Why hide it your not breaking any laws?
if someone sees you doing something such as blowing it down your shirt well then your sending a bad message to others because you look guilty of doing something wrong when your in fact not.

Anyway, just wondered if you - like me - have found people very annoyed with your cig use because they cant' stand to see people having a good time?

I have a little picture that echoes this precisely:

I vape at work, but only in the smoke room or in my cubicle. I work in a casino, so surveillance cameras are everywhere. My boss knows I vape in my cube, and it's OK with him.

I did exhale into my sweater while vaping on a plane. It was night, the lights were out except for my overhead light. Yep, you guessed it, the vapor floated straight through the sweater and into that overhead light! Luckily the flight attendants were asleep too. I held it in after that.

being not wrong, doesn't make you right
you only get one chance to make a first impression

It's also not illegal to fart in someone's face, but I doubt that's the best way to advertise your new vanilla scented hemmorhoid creme

:lol::lol::lol:

I, too, am discrete with my PV. I do sneak vapes in my cube, either holding in the vape, doing a secondary inhale, or exhaling very slowly through my nose.

My hubs insists that I vape chocolate in the car, as he loves the scent.

This, IMO, is not the time to be in your face about our PV's. First, we need to get the conception shifted from "if it smokes, it's evil" to "there's a difference from smoke and vape." Once we've accomplished that, we can move on to "It's vape, and not offensive."

Small, baby steps to acceptance are what are needed here.

BTW, where do you find vanilla scented hemmorhoid cream?:D

BOL! That is awesome :D

When I vape in a place that I most likely shouldnt, I just hold it in for a few seconds and slowly exhale though my nose.

I agree.... baby steps :)

Monkeymonk, your avatar is deceptive, such a sweet looking kitty. I had a cat like that one time, it was the meanest and sneakiest cat you ever saw.

I only vape in places you can smoke analog in public, except for my doctors exam rooms. They like the smell of my e-cig.

The old saying "kill them with kindness" and politeness comes to mind in this war were waging on the Anti's.

If that don't work tell them it is your personal vaporizer. I did this at the casino the other day to a lady and she said ok, just like everyone Carry's around a VP.

I had mine delivered to the office and started puffing away and the guy next to me started complaining about the smell. I explained that there was no smell but he was adamant. Perhaps its the fact that that he's an ex-smoker that coughed his guts out when he had a go on it a few minutes before complaining.
My husband doesn't like the smell of mine. The kids think it smells like the flavor I'm vaping, he swears it smells like a cigar.

If it smelled like a cigar it would make me sick.

I do the same method of analog smoking in the rain. Cup it with my hand using index and thumb, smoking vertical. Covers light and I blow the smoke in the same direction (away from peoples faces).

About the smell...I remember my friends smells like fruity berries (well...like how the artificial berry gum packages smell anyway). I religiously use only Vanilla cartridges. I can't smell it when I'm outside but if I'm cooped up in a room vaping (like...erm...let's say I was in the bathroom, relaxing my nerves in an enclosed space, vaping away for 20 or so mins to get away from rehearsal after my band director flipped out @ me infront of everyone...hypothetically speaking) then I'd imagine that I'd pick up the smell if I exited and entered again...you get used to the smell. But others (to their great disdain of inhaling the horrid scents of vanilla, and fruity flavors) tend to beable to.

I'm too chicken to smoke in public during the daytime. I don't know...when it's dark out my 'behavior' tends to be overlooked. Then again...it's hard to judge someone too hard that appears to be smoking when there is some dumb hipster broad puking her guts up 5 feet away from you. There are worse things that go on during night...smoking looks pretty innocent in the spots I venture into.

Have done it in the theatre regularly though (you pick assigned seats when buying your ticket. I always make sure to sit in the front rows in the corner. But...Im not sure if I do this to avoid attention from my vaping or just because I simply hate the company of strangers while watching a movie and would like to be as far away from them as possible. Who knows...

I'm planning to attend alot of concerts this summer (jazz festival in san francisco coming up along with free tickets to symphony shows). Not all of the venues are outside and some shows can extend way over from 2 hours. and intermission is a long way (too long for me to wait anyhow). There can be some pretty snobby self pretentious people attending (actually...they're guaranteed to show up. it is in SF you know) and classical musicians tend to condone smoking...painfully, im personally aware of this. I was raised to be courteous of others but Ill be needing a nic fix so theyll just have to deal (hopefully by not calling the cops or having security kick me out). wish me luck.

Iv got an interesting idea.
Im a student at Georgia Tech, and I live 30 miles outside of atlanta.
Iv been commuting using the local trans busses.

80% of the people that ride these busses are regulars, and ride them every day to work/school to save on gas(its a LOT cheaper)

I may have to talk to EVERYONE on that bus, including the drivers(theres 2-3 that do my route) but I really think theyll all be fine with me vaping on the bus.

Of course in summer right now, im not commuting downtown so I havent been able to try it out.
but that would be awesome for me, a nice relaxing ride home without the traffic hassle, while vaping away
