an update on the cartel self -firing situation:
I blame the Sony VTC3 wrap entirely.....why it only happened in my cartel- i'm guessing because the battery sits very snug in the tube....
Cartel responded immediately to any questions and concerns I had....but I'm impressed- the Stillare is the first atty to have survived one of my "meltdowns"....
it is built with some serious insulators....

Yikes! What batteries are you using for those builds and how are they keeping up?

For me , I find the diameter on them and wick density matters more than it does a standard coil because they're so long and get very hot. I've found that 2mm ID works best.

So I finally got around to trying this. I made a single, parallel 26g 6/12 wrap coil around a 2mm mandrel at 0.28Ω and put in in a Cyclone for BFing. Yes, the flavor is there, thank you! And that's the largest diameter coil I've made since leaving genny's world. It does take quite a while to cool down, though.

In other news, my pre-ordered Zenith V2 is delayed again.

anything below .2ohms I run on the 26650 battery (MNKE preferred over Sony)....
for 0.24ohoms and + (.3ohms....) I run on the Efest Puprple Series 35A, Sony VTC 3,4,5, Lg

It looks like those are in 18350 though? or is it just me. :p If they are in 18350 how does the battery hold up with that low of resistance?

You know the mnkes are only rated at 20 amps right? 26650 bats haven't recieved the same level of attention from battery manufacturers as 18650. As far as I can tell from reading spec sheets the only advantage 26650 has is capacity.

They're 20amp continuous discharge and 60amp burst.
