@halcon, let's see that whole hellfire -- inside and out! I still don't get the space there - is it all one part?

I recently gave the single parallel coil a spin.. My quasar build was quite old and in need of a fresh coil so I thought Id try this new build out.

I did 5 wraps of x2 26g.. so ten wraps really.

My impression of the vape was this:

Denser clouds bit a small measure.. noticeable but not OMG this is like exhaling white out compared to my usual build

Warmer by a small measure, but the moisture level was actually lower for me

But heres the kicker. Its the first time I have ever built a subohm coil, where the flavor of the liquid was destroyed.

I vehemently defend subohm vaping to those who like to say its unsafe, and my absolute favorite, those who like to say, "Its only for cloud chasing kiddies, there is zero flavor in subohm vaping".

I always jump on that, because pretty much all the builds I utilize on a day to day basis, provide an absolute EXPLOSION of flavor.

But the 5 wrap of dual 26g, it just flattened the flavor completely. Tried a bunch of different types of juices, and it was the same each time.

Now, I will concede that perhaps if I added another wrap or two to make 12 or 14 total wraps, there would have been a change. But 5 wraps of dual 26g, ohming out almost e xactly how I usually build, .32, totally flattened the flavor.

    FOR ME anyway. Obviously, YMMV.

built a single parallel coil and impressed with it. vape feels a bit more intense compared to a dual micro coil, wo

I love my parallel coil setups....I did one single parallel in my Atomic, and a dual parallel for .2 Ohms in my Brass Monkee. The dual parallel was done pretty much out of sheer boredom; the single parallel is more than adequate and vapes like a dream....

Hmm. I just ripped out a parallel 26g 0.28Ω that did the same thing for me - flat flavor. Not my first less than 0.4Ω, but my first //26g. Replaced it with a single micro at 0.6Ω and the yummy is back.

Oh. And here's one I posted elsewhere:

Don't have a high end BF atty yet, but the Cyclone is a sweet beast. (I usually have a brass RM2 on top)

I first want to say I love my BCV XXIX. Because of that I ordered a BFM. I received it today. I'm returning it. It is not the design genius of the 29 nor is it engineered or machined as meticulously.

The switch is wonky (that's a technical term) and the top cap is, imo, ridiculous because it tapers to 22mm. So all my 28mm atties won't sit flush.

Most significant is that the way the 510 top cap threadings were designed, and the thinnest of the material, an atty's 510 threads slips past the top cap threads to where the part of the 510 stem that has no threads falls through, so no connection. It just rests on top of the caps and wiggles around. (I hope that was clear. If not I'll have to YouTube it).

I contacted James and he stated he knows of this issue with some atties (8 of my 11 have this issue) and that he is creating a delrin adapter to fix the issue. Luckily Vapor Lair has agreed to a full refund. If I'm paying $285 for a mod it better be perfect out the door.

I've had a bad luck week with the APO issue and now this, plus I ordered a Halo top cap for an igo-w5 that is way too loose no matter what orings I use and I ordered some custom DTs that came in 6mm shorter than ordered. All vendors are correcting the issues but in 4 years of vaping I've never had this bad luck. I better check the stars and take a vape mail break.

Enough ranting. Return to your regularly scheduled programming. :D

For me , I find the diameter on them and wick density matters more than it does a standard coil because they're so long and get very hot. I've found that 2mm ID works best.

Just a couple of days ago, I bent up some 2mm piano wire to use on the coil gizmo, but I haven't used it yet. I think I'll give this a try next time I get the coiling itch.

Man that is a serious sting of bad luck, Im sorry brohiem.

But, Im afraid it might continue.

Unless you ordered the Halo cap to use the Igo-W PURELY for cloud chasing, its going to be a dissapointment. I bought one for my Patriot, because the stock cap holes are too tight for me, and I like to avoid drilling whenever possible. Turns the Patriot into a great cloud machine, but the flavor is just dead. Wayy too big a chamber with four huge airholes.

I like to build a setup that gives me clouds AND flavor. If I dont get both, its not good for me. Im flexible on the cloud size, as long as I get a dense lung fill, but if the flavor isn't there theres no point to me.

(kinda harkens back to my earlier comment about defending subohm vaping to some people.. Despite what the "haters" usually say, I dont actually know anyone who vapes or builds PURELY for clouds. I imagine they exist but truthfully, how many people vape like that 24-7?)

I sure hope your wrong about the BFM. There is a flat top cap that is going to be released soon for the larger attys.
