It is easy to sit there and giggle about Yihi making a better chip than Evolv. It is way easier to look at the mistakes of the trailblazer and do better than they did.

Just saying, yes evolv could have done better, they did blaze the trail here. The Chinese did not start anything, they got a patent for vaporizing nicotine. The ecig was patented here in the US in the 60s.

I'm sorry, but what trail did Evolv blaze?

They certainly weren't the first ones to produce a chip for regulating the power of mods. I think you'll find Provari and the Chinese Vamo were doing that 2 years before Evolv existed. I'm not sure who made the first commercial regulated mod or when it first hit the market, but there have been a variety of them since 2010 and Evolv didn't introduce their first chip until 2012.

And as for the ecig being patented in the US first, there was a device that was patented in the 1960s, but it's NOTHING like the modern ecigs we use today. The ecig as you know it was invented in China in the late 1990s and patented in 2003.

I have a bit of electronic engineering/programming background as a hobby. voltage regulators that could have been applied to this job have been around since the late 50's but at that time in the military. American made. china was not the huge presence then. the interface it a pic controller. about 4k of eprom that holds the data for what it shall do and what to display on the screen. since the mid 60's. again, American. it was japan before china and they did not begin until the late 70's and flourished here in the mid to late 80's. japan became too expensive to do business with in the early 90's. enter china. china is interesting because they develop every consumer good not just electronics. I do not dislike china. it is not who will win. I feel America needs to keep a presence in the workforce. in fact in the most important fastest growth industry we are out front. IT. it does not matter who developed that first really. as you might be aware this is not considered a very important industry unfortunately. it has other applications though. as in welding robots. I actually do not know who invented the first actual e-cigarette. I would be inclined to guess china though. the jury is out. it may be a passive life saving device if ever seen that way by law makers. it is not performing cardiac surgery. honestly that is just trivia as to who invented it first. I will tell you that regardless if our chip functions, our complete devices walk all over china. at a price. which is why I mentioned more clones are sold here. that is a fact and unfortunate. just to thwart designers. this is really the first industry where clones have outsold authentic. that, you can thank china for.. the only problem I see with china is their very nasty prevalent black market. somehow rarely stopped at customs. just too much coming.

sorry for rant but I am saying there are more important things at stake here than the trivial matter of whom came to the table first. in less that is all we are discussing. who made it first. moot, but I don't mind the conversation.

again I will say the vapor shark is believe it or not just what we need more of. it is like an American mvp of sorts. if price comes down that could serve well to stop clone production. there are actually about 1 of our mods for every 20 mvp type boxes and even more clones. the problem with this thing is the price point for how they are marketing it. unless someone has serious illness from smokig they will probably walk out of there 5 out of 10. the other 5 does seem to keep them in business. hence the markup. you are talking hana money but hana is not for the masses. I still mostly see people out and about with an ego.

I currently have 1 DNA20, 2 DNA30, 9 DNA40 and 3 DNA25 mods. (Actually only 2 of the DNA25s are making vapor, gotta finish one.)

Even the Galactika which was stuck on 40 watts for all of yesterday is now working :) My first two chips were scrambled, but got replaced by Evolv.

Not a single Vaporshark in the bunch.

I don't dare post this in the istick thread. I love the shape and feel of the 50w. wish someone would make one of thicker billet aluminum and put dna or sx. the shark is actually a tiny bit smaller but I like the rounded corners. speaking of shark the rubber and lighted button grew on me. how long till you think it breaks haha.

the good performance metal imo is jmk and 2puffs. those acrylic ones are just so cool though. well I guess most guys don't think so but I like them. one company finally came out with serious performance ones and a huge chuff.

the sx is a lot bigger. has big choke and heat sink. maybe that is why it does not overheat! I probably spent more on postage sending back dna40's then the mods cost.
it is absurd the Chinese are beating the us here.
But just yesterday you said something about the rubber akin to doodoo. What happened that made it grow on you in 24hrs?

I am guessing the rubber skin will rub off. maybe, maybe not. I like the size and the battery is easy to get to. I like that it does not look like a mess inside like some other mods. I just figured when I got it as I said it is like sleep number or Samsung phone. or ipad for that matter. it is a very consumer oriented product. which usually does not ring my bell. it is just a good form factor and I decided to go a little easier on it. I am guessing it will not last long but I could be wrong. hopefully. as for the rubber coating I got a pink shark skin haha. seriously I did but I will not be seen in public with that. maybe hana can come out with a montanna skin. that, I probably wouldn't touch. I am just joking around okay. in all seriousness though it is not some mod for the cool kids. it is a mod for everyone but honestly it is alright. I am often too hard on things when I get them. I was already mad as heck with the 5th hana that broke. sx mini, flask. look it is me really. I say if you like any of the mods I have go get one. it might break but it has a warranty. you could do worse than the shark. I just tend to cool down after 48 hours. besides this in fact has not failed on me yet. if you were considering one and looking to me for advice id say if you like it get it. there will be a better one in 6 months anyways. I hope I explained myself regarding my negativity. I pretty much always change my mind. even if they are in for repair. just wait a few days before you take to heart anything I say. it's just how I am.

on that note, I was wondering if anyone else has a rdna40 is advanced with this and still enjoys it?

You know you could always get a different color shark skin?

the reason is because it was the last one. I will pick up a leather one when they come back in. if you were thinking I said I am a vegan just food really. I am not one of those extreme types. not that I dislike them.

the drip tip I got is the real deal. I am choking duh

I am glad you were just testing me. after I cooled down I was pretty happy with it. well, there is a real reason for that too. a shopkeeper stole over 400 5 star points from me that day.. there are a lot f dishonest people. of course plenty of good ones too. I think ordering online is the ticket. these storefronts have done very wrong by me so far.

Would be a bit better if the entire wooden sleeve removed, instead of having that seam there for the battery section, but still very nice looking! Can't go wrong with the SX350 either!

Eh, I have had them both ways. I actually like this one, the only thing I would change would be to flush mount the Fatdaddy but it works great and did not break the bank.
