the rubberized coating on my shark wore through in a spot in less than a week. by the atty which is under stress there. these rubberized coatings are not very durable. don't last long on flashlights I was able to make a 99% repair anyways. having lot's of experience with this coating it is easy to repair. I wish it was more durable but I still like it. I guess that is why they have a sharkskin. kind of dumb to protect rubber with silicone but necessary. I just mention this because if someone is getting it thinking it will stay pristine they are mistaken. depending on how gentle they are. or keep a skin on it. even fixes can only be applied so many times and if one knows how. nonetheless I do recommend this mod. especially to beginners looking to get into regulated high power mods. paired with a subtank it is easy clouds.

edit: having it less than a week I will ask if vaporshark will replace it. I doubt finish is covered. that would be akin to a scratch on an anodized finish. I will ask though. either way my fix is pretty good and only noticeable to myself most likely. it does not matter because this finish will not hold up for the long term. eh, it's the first scratch that hurts the most. hana b4s is terrific because I can just hit that with nevr dull anytime.

I had the same issue with my paint after only a few days of receiving it. I tried to see if they would replace it but they didnt. It got so bad I had ocd mods repaint it for me.

this type of coating is weak. I knew they would not stand behind it. if you are skilled with an air brush you can fix it. it is basf light auto undercoating. I thought I would soon get ousted on that post because I was a troll. I knew this, what bs. some one else is out of 200 bucks. sx mini both failed too. stronger paint please folks! reo and other wood mods are obviously easier to fix as hana b4s that I mentioned. fix anodize with shoe polish! I still like the shark though. I might put on 3m color change! then I have a custom mod out of it. stripping it is a pain. do not do this if you don't know how! you can be injured or killed by these materials.

I am so glad this was just not my own stupidity.

is that a provari? if so, nice! nice otherwise too.

I have just changed my stance on something very controversial. I reserve the right to change my mind again in the future. if a mod is known to have issues whatever they may be. speak with your wallet. go buy the clone! let the mod makers know that they do not deserve your hard earned money for this quality and you are specifically telling them do better or quit. does this sound fair? I know we here are highly against clones. certainly I am. I changed my mind under this one circumstance. doing this is for a reason. it speaks to the manufacturer that you do not approve of the quality they are offering. hopefully they get the message, fix it and we all buy one. I remain if a mod is good it is absolutely unfair to buy a clone. people deserve payment for their good effort. I am against clones other than now using them as a tool to send a message. do you think this is reasonable or am I dead wrong? do we deserve to be ripped off? sure, you could choose to do nothing but I think this could be effective. of course plenty of people don't care, have other motives and are reckless. that is not what I am saying here. I really do not know if you guys will embrace this idea or shun it. speak.

Well I'll be the first to disagree. Buy a different authentic instead if you really don't like a particular mod.

Apart from the ethical debate about so called clones, I have yet to see one that isn't complete garbage. They are usually very poorly made, don't function the same as the original and are sometimes quite dangerous.

Apart from wasting the buyers money they tarnish the reputation of the real mod maker amongst those who mistakenly think the functionality and performance is the same as the original. My 2c.

Well said. I couldn't agree more. I love the design of the vaporshark but the paint is something else. You expect quality for the price tag. Oh well.

I beg to differ, lot's of really good clones out there & some are even better than the authentic.....

I really don't know guys. I am no expert on such things. I am just a jaded consumer. here I actually spent way more than chew cans ever cost and many of mine fell apart. I don't know if my idea was good or not honestly I am just really unhappy yet another mod failed in less than a week, if these were like mp3 players or something this would be completely unacceptable. many of them are great. many aren't. I mean you spend $200 for something it should last more than a week. I really don't know what people should do about this. I am just really bummed right now. I do agree that almost all clones are crummy but half the time the authentic is no better! yes, it is also immoral regardless. you got me there.

I figure this is not solely a picture thread but has also carried much discussion on varied topics related to the art. so I hope this is not seen as ot. it is a real problem that plagues this industry. I think it is because it is not as mature as other industries. I bet in 4 years these will all be rock solid. I don't mind paying whatever but give me something I can hold onto.
