It offers more space between and it does keep heat down. I was sad they didn't have the shiny tips too. I'm seriously considering ordering the derringer clone off fasttech just for all the top caps you can get with it., then a brass and black mechanical to make it all match and be purty. I normally don't order from fasttech, but it's almost impossible to find what I want anywhere else.
$8.15 Derringer V2 Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (V2, 22mm, Brass + SS) at m.FastTech.com - FastTech Mobile
$13.55 4Nine Styled Mechanical Mod - 18350/18500/18650 / brass / black paint at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I've heard those 4Nines can cause some problems... not sure of the exact details, but something about hybrid-this-that-or-the-other-thing.

But that's the ONLY reason I'll ever order from FT, if there's something I really NEED that I can't find anywhere in the US -- like the brass kick ring that took 43 days to reach me even though they shipped it the very next day.

So I'll keep looking for a black and brass/gold mod, somewhere in the US. ;)

If it's a hybrid top cap, not a true hybrid, you have to make extra sure that the 510 positive pin on your mod extends past the negative threading quite a bit. Most clearos are not built with that extended pin.

The derringer has an adjustable 510 positive pin that has much better clearance even when at its shortest.

if you don't have that long pin, it's possible both your negative and positive of your battery could touch through the threads and short out the battery, causing it to vent.

Yeah... I'm thinking I'll just leave 4nines and mods like it strictly alone. The 510 pin does extend past the threads, on my Achilles; I had wondered why it did that. :D But I like regulated mods better anyway -- my 2 mechs are strictly vapocalypse prep -- once the novelty wore off them, I don't use them anymore -- but if the FDA goes completely out of their minds, I might end up being really happy to have them. :)

Even with the center pin consideration it is a nice mod. The magnets take up any battery adjustment none of these dinky center pin adjustments for battery rattle.
And will work with 16350 batteries...

Exactly the reason I'm getting it. In 350 mode it'll be a nice little pocket vape.

Okay, I guess I understand. TC is not something I've ventured into, or know much about, nor will I find out much about it. I'm happy with my good old mechs and gennies :)

I'm especially curious to try TC on my collection of Genesis atties, several of which I have stainless steel tanks on because the glass broke long ago.

So I recently got the eVic vt and have and the ego one mega tank to get started on temp control vaping. I thought i read that temp control helps slow down juice consumption some. But it seems like the 4 ml tank goes by super fast when using the .2 ohm nickel coil. Is this usual?
and this is why people start mixing their own juice, anything below .5 is going to start sucking up juice if it has big airflow, the question is though what temp are you vaping at?
