Patients?[/quote]
Sorry Spider, I'm a nurse and spent most of the weekend in work. i'm currently trying to pluck up courage to use my e-cig in the coffee room, now that would cause a stir:D.

I've already told a few patients about it, they get nicotine patches sometimes but as most of us know they really don't cut it do they? I think it's terrible that hospitals make patients go outside to smoke. So dangerous and doesn't help anyone, patients or nursing staff who worry the whole time they are off the ward.
After all they are in hospital because they are ill and trekking half a mile into the freezing cold trailing a drip stand for the evil weed IS NOT going to help! There has to be a better solution.

Sorry rant over, but the anti's out there have made our jobs harder in this respect. We know that most of the patients are not going to give up whatever we tell them about the dangers of smoking and we should make it as safe as possible. For most of my patients it's too late so their attitude is "why stop now?"

I'll keep spreading the word and maybe get a few converts to the e-cig!

I love Yorkshire too, the people are great although they do speak funny :p

I've been living in West Yorkshire for coming up to 6 years now - at least we are getting the weather now!

It's so British of us to start talking about the weather ..

Spider
Sorry, that was me starting the weather thing!
And that was it, that was summer.....no sun today....knew it!

Girl, I would say you've got a rare opportunity here! buy yourself a few extra starter kits and rent them to your patients! I bet you could get as much as 10 quid an hour! Just keep it under the blanket (so to speak) so your bosses don't spoil the party. I'm sure your patients/customers woul be only too happy to keep mum. :D

And, you could charge a premium to the REALLY desperate, like those who are immobile! :D A 2 pack a day guy in a whole body cast? KA-CHING!

OMG Leaford! What a brilliant idea.....I could be loaded within a week! Will have to put some thought into this ;)

We had a totally immobile patient the other week (before I heard about e-cigs) totally bedbound and a 60 a day smoker..NOT a happy camper!! How he would have LOVED an e-cig, and so would we, would have made for a MUCH easier night shift. He really, really wasn't a happy bunny and didn't he let us know it ;)
