Hey I am looking to chase clouds but I have very limited funds available... I have seen some reviews for what I have learned are called 'clones' of high-end mods... I dont know much about any of the clones I have seen, but I do know that I want to get the best bang for my buck. I am looking for something that will last for years and that I can use frequently without questioning its durability and funtion.

I am here to ask about the clones out there with the best manufacturing that perform the best. I would like to hear your reccomendations for my every day mod that will last me a while and will always funtion properly.

Thanks for the help guys, feel free to link youtube reviews or pm me links if posting them isn't allowed... I look forward to your advice and to owning my own cloud chasing device... this spinner isn't cutting it.

Direct answer: my favorite so far is my Munstro clone. Lots of people I know like copper Anatolian, Penny, and XXIX clones. One youtube video I watched from a reliable reviewer suggested that the Manhattan clones *marginally* outperform the authentics.
Indirect answer: If you're on a severely tight budget, cloud chasing and mech modding in general may not be for you right now. Even with cloned hardware, you're looking at a pretty sharp increase in expense. Batteries, charger, ohm reader, kanthal, you'll blast through juice WAY faster than before. I've yet to meet an RDA who isn't a complete juice ...... That's just the nature of the beast.

Thanks for the advice man. I appreciate it. I am hoping to do a trade with a shop in a town near me for some store credit in exchange for some vinyl decals I make. I am hoping to keep the out of pocket cost low depending on how much credit they will give me, but that remains to be seen. I know they carry clones, but I'm not sure which models they have. I will call and ask about the models you mentioned tomorrow. Thanks!

You should be asking what clones to avoid.

Mechs are just metal tubes with simple horn switches.
Most clones are made pretty well these days.
There are a few to avoid, but asking "which is the best quality" is gonna get you a lot of answers that realistically won't help your situation.

This is also the third time this week this topic has been posted.
Search function is your pal.

My advice to the OP is to find the style of mod you want and do the research.
Read reviews from seasoned users that relate to the specific clone you want.

The fast tech forums are light years beyond crappy YouTube videos from wannabes and paid shills.
I work on mods for a few shops.
I have over 50 clones.
I didn't get a shred of info from YouTube.

The nice thing about you tube vids is that you can see the mod, see it broken down, see how the switch works, etc. (operative word "see").

FT forums are excellent, especially discussions on specific clones. If a problem is mentioned once, then usually it's user error. If it keeps popping up--Maraxus button heating up is one such issue--then avoid that particular model, unless you're willing and able to fix it.

To the OP: Tons of different china manufacturers make clones. So just by going with what mechanical mod is the best will surely get you know where. Especially at B & M stores they usually don't no what manufacturer they bought their clone from, most go for the cheapest....I don't own clones, but I know there are Fast Tech, Infinite, HCigar, among many many others. I would honestly ask the owner or whoever is giving you the credit, what he suggests. Because buying online is not going to be an option due to the trade situation. Usually most owners or store employees would be happy that you want their opinion and they feel obligated to steer you in the right direction and tell you what to avoid. Best of luck, I hope you are able to find the perfect one! :vapor:

I own a copper tobeco manhattan clone, and it's the hardest hitting mod I've owned, even better than my authentics. I use a patriot or vapesmith castle rda for when I'm cloudchasing and it's definitely the most performing mod I have. It vents out of the switch though so if you're building coils around 0.16 or so the mod will get pretty warm as there isn't any other airflow other than that. The only real con is just not having a locking ring, but the magnetic switch is pretty strong, and I haven't had it misfire in my pockets ever.

Are your attys clones or authentic? A general question for everyone: Do authentic attys generallt matter more than having genuine mods?

Just a fun fact, the Manhattan was designed (and the clones) to not have the atty sit flush on the cap to minimize heat transfer. Raise the floating contact a little bit and your mod will never get warm, ever.

OP, you are going to get many different answers as to what you should buy, there will be no general consensus. Stingray here, 4Nine there, Manhattan here, Turtleship there, blah blah blah. Your best bet will be to go to a reputable site like VapeRoyalty.com, VapingWalrus.com, or 101vape.com and pick one that you like.

Thank you, it seems like thats the general consensus here. I will pick one based on looks from a reputable site haha.... do those sites have coupon codes? I will have to use my credit for juice, wire, wick, and batteries.

The nice thing about you tube vids is that you can see the mod, see it broken down, see how the switch works, etc. (operative word "see").

Or spend hours watching a horrible review made by some kid who thinks he is the next RipTripper or Paul Bussardo.
Or watch someone show you the only good mod out of 500 because they are paid to hype the product.

I'd rather get a review from a legitimate retail purchaser who has a dozen or so mods to compare.
You can find this in forums. You can see how others respond.
You tube can't compare. Sorry.

I've never had an issue with any Infinite/SXK clones, mech or atty.

There are multiple threads here on ECF about the infinite stingray switch.
This was after tons of vapers bought the Clone based in a few YouTube videos hyping an untested clone.
