The lava tube has gained a lot of fans since it has been out. I've been reading the sub forum dedicated to the lavatube for a while. Judging by what I have read, it is a decent entry-level VV device. It has some limitations, but you should be pleased with it.

I have a love/hate relationship with tanks. Often they're one of the best things ever... and sometimes they drive me a little crazy. When everything goes well, I'm pretty happy. When I pull a carto too far out and make a mess when trying to fill one or when I have a carto just decide to leak for whatever reason, I get happier and happier with my feeder mods.

The LT is a good device to startup into the adventure of VV mods, but she did have some bad regulations for the power handling. Depending on which atomizer you use, she will automatically screw down the real power outage to 3,0 Volt...

Here some more Information around

Power rates:

Lavatube 2,5A 10W
Provari v1 2,5A 15W
Provari v2 3.5A bis 21W

Weights:

Lavatube Normal 125,5mm 21,9mm 22,7mm 1,5mm 92,6g
Provari Mini 88,5mm 22,8mm 24,5mm 2,0mm 126,6g
Provari Mini + Extension 101,5mm 22,8mm 24,5mm 2,0mm 143,4g
Provari Normal 105,0mm 22,8mm 24,5mm 2,0mm 152,1g
Provari Normal + Extension 118,0mm 22,8mm 24,5mm 2,0mm 167,8g

Yea Zero, I did hear something about that that turned me off. I guess I need to make sure to not use LR with it from what I can tell. The Provari is for sure on my eventually list! But I have to ease the wife in to my new bills from my new hobby! Haha! I wonder if I should get one of those volt meters that you screw on in between the mod and atty? Not for sure who sells those or if they are expensive though. But Thanks a ton for the info! -Cru

I am a bit skeptical too Six about the tank. I figured since it came in the kit it would be a good way to try it. Problem was I had a hard time finding LT's in stock anywhere but where I got this one from! So, you like your bottom feeders, right? Seems like most of those are boxes which I am a bit unsure about that for some goofy reason. I guess its just like coming off an analog to something the same size. Even though I don't care about size and looks now I must still be stuck on the cylinder shape! Thanks for the info! -Cru

Oh sweet! Thanks MGMRICK! That would be totally worth it. Been there before I was looking for something like that. Now I know what it is called too! Thanks! -Cru

Sorry I was off by 4.99.... the price is 14.99 but it does work on the lava tube as I bought one a while back

I have had long stretches of everything working right with a tank. They're awesome when everything is going well. It's just that sometimes it's really easy to pull a carto too far out when filling or push it too far in when putting it back together and end up dumping the juice out the bottom. When stuff like that happens, it's frustrating. But, I didn't mean to imply those things happen all the time. Most people I read here on ECF and elsewhere who use tanks all the time love them.

Something that might interest you eventually if you want to stick to the tube form factor is the surge tank. It's expensive. I think I'd really like to have one but I also think I don't want to drop a hundred bucks on it. - But, it turns a tube mod in to a bottom feeder. That is one of the more innovative things I've seen recently. I'm really hoping they decide to make a delrin version of it in the near future and maybe that would be less expensive.

I do like my feeders. I own pretty close to a dozen tube mods and I have a couple I wouldn't trade for anything. But my feeders really make things easy. I have 4 feeders now. Two are plastic box type bottom feeders (one of them is broken and I'm going to replace it with something more durable and more versatile), a REO mini which is a metal bottom feeder, and a VVPV which is a metal VV top feeder. I'm really fond of all of them. The VVPV has pretty much taken over as my most used mod. It not only provides hassle free vaping like any other feeder, but it provides the most consistent vaping experience I've ever had.

The box form factor isn't for everyone. But, even for people who don't like a box, it is worth comparing the features and knowing what's available in a good PV. It's easy to overlook some of the better features found in tubes and boxes: Juice well versus catch cup versus neither - Raised connector versus flush connector versus sunken connector versus ego-friendly connector - etc etc etc. There's a lot to think about when choosing a PV you hope to use for a long time in to the future.

Nice Six! I will have to check out that surge tank. Man, sounds like you have a sweet line up! Sometimes when I think of boxes I often wonder if they would be a good way to go for a pocket? Almost like having a pack of smokes. I did get in my Powertube and am a bit confused about something I am going to thread later on the lava tube thread. For some reason I am taken aback by the taste difference from my V2 808 setup to the VV with the tank? I don't want to say it tastes worse, just so different, no matter what volts I am on. Now, it will change with volt changing, so I think that is working, but I mean compared to the 808 it is like night and day. Confused if it is the carto's, or tank, or volts and that things are now regulated?

So if USPS loses my mail(it has happened a lot recently) for lets say 9 days, and the mail man comes strolling in at 5pm. I use it for 7 hours I would be SOL? :p Sounds like an investment.
