yeah, i am, but I am gonna give less wraps a shot - see if i can get a functioning coil, even if it won;t work on my MVP2. just to see if i'm overall doing anything wrong or if im just not doing a good enough job with a small amount of space

Try 9/10 wraps. While not ideal resistance for an mvp, it's about the right amount of space.

I have gotten much faster and assembling completely deficient coils :)

9 wraps, short...not touching sides so far as i can see. 0.0 ohms. gonna try one more time and then call it a day, try again when fresh. all i'm doing to check the ohms is popping on the chimney, and screwing the head into the base, then putting that directly on the mvp. no wick, no tank, nothing, but i'm guessing that doesn't matter.

I have mad respect for you people. this is one of the most frustrating things ive tried to do in months. I hate working with my hands on stuff like this, but figured it'd be worth it to try and learn for this. I'll take your alls advice and not give up completely, but at this point im done for a bit. not worth the frustration.

Try screwing it into the base without the chimney on. If you get an ohms reading there and 0 after the chimney, it's the chimney creating issues.

cotton wick primed and soaking in tank filled with holy Wakonda :D terrified. i tried firing the coil first and it glowed orange. good sign. bad idea to do that though with rubber cap assembled, most likely. at any rate - this is akso my first time wicking so thats mostly what im terrified of. the flavor wick hangs just a LITTLE bit out of the side which i hope isn't a terrible thing. we'll see how it does...
thanks for your help everyone! my reading is varying between 1.1 and 1.2 ohm. i'll post back with results

well, it vapes. not sure why but it doesnt really impress me. has a sort of strange taste and not as much vapor as stock coil/wick. but - vaping!

Turn up the wattage. 28 gauge is not ideal for the mvp. Takes a bit to heat up. The off taste may be present for a few toots but should dissipate.

Typically not enough cotton will lead to gurgling.

I actually never used a flavor wick. I just fluffed the cotton a bit.

When you do get the right consistency, it'll be vaping heaven.

Rebuilding PT's changed my vape forever. Got me into rebuilding rdas, and then to kayfuns and taifun... and then into mechs, sub ohming and high wattage devices.

thinking about it, trying this first with Wakonda was probably a mistake. I've got vapors tongue for Wakonda right now. so the flavor probably isn't going to hit me well either way. that said, I'll rewick it probably tomorrow, using more cotton, maybe no flavor wick. is it bad for the cotton to be rolled tight? that seemed to be the best way to feed it through the coil

It shouldn't really be rolled. Also, gurgling can be from too much cotton. Full leaking from too little. There's a happy medium and it doesn't really need to be rolled. Twisted at the tip and then pulled thru with very little resistance.

I only tight roll enough to get it through and then cut that part off. I don't roll the part that will actually be the wick at all.
