Hmmmm .. Maybe not so safe?

well i have asthma and ill tell you that pg is method of transport in asthma nebulizers which dont heat but still vaporize the solution and you breath it in and it delivers the albuterol to you that way.... glycerin is not toxic to us either as it is a humectant which means keeps you moist basically if you notice when you first start vaping the vg give the vapor a dense or full feeling that isnt there with pg alone and that is because vaporized vg sucks out the water in the air and makes the particles heavy and dense giving you the aforementioned feeling

so from this asthmatic both of those items are a non issue in terms of dangerous to our health

I had been a smoker for years. I gave cigarettes up on Nov 28, 2012, the day my E-Cig starter kit arrived in the mail. I love to Vape... I especially enjoy being able to vape at work. Back when I started, there was a common belief that vaping was safe, at least that was what I had heard and read. Is it? I can't imagine that inhaling vaporized propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin is good for my lungs... Don't get me wrong, I am vaping with the understanding that the behavior can or could be VERY hazardous to my health. Ultimately, there simply is no research as of yet to determine the impact of vaping on health. Let's not continue to fool ourselves.

Nothing I've seen says Bad. I've had no Bad experience related to vaping after playing 'lab monkey' for 9 months. So until I've seen the Bad all is Good, and I don't feel fooled at all. Hopefully my testimonial will comfort your feelings of insecurity.

I look at it this way:
Just think of how many cig butts we haven't chucked on the ground since switching.....

I own a Zippo pocket ash tray, so my butts weren't being tossed around (That's what she said!)

Anyway there is no way that vaping is worse or even as bad as smoking unless of course you are seeking lead flavored juice. But if lead is your perogative, go ahead. Even just cutting my smoking in half (from 30+ to 15ish a day, hope to be smoke free in a month) I feel so much better and am not hacking when running to catch a L train.

If you do a little research you'll find that the scientific community has been looking at the effects of vaping for a number of years. There has been, and continues to be research into the subject.

I have. There has been some research. However, nothing sufficient. With the huge demand over the past few years for E-Cic's, hopefully that will change.

There is little research because ALA and the likes don't really care about your lung health. Don't be fooled by their mission statement. They have the donated funds. They choose not to research vaping. Perhaps they fear their own demise should vaping replace the smoking cash cow.

Wait... Is the op suggesting that cigarettes are safer than vaping? What these things don't have vitamins in them (I actually have an eliquid that supposedly has b12/c/echinacea in it)? In the end we have to make changes all the time in our lives. I believe vaping is exponentially less harmful than smoking and smells a lot better.

What about anecdotal evidence?

For instance, vegetable glycerin has been used for decades in commercial fog machines. Have you ever heard of anyone working in a haunted house or carnival funhouse develop major health problems from breathing the vapor from the fog machines all day long?

The flavorings in our liquids are also used in foods. They've been used in food preparation for decades. Have you ever heard of a cook or worker in a candy factory develop major health problems because of the fumes from the flavorings? They certainly breath them with every single breath they take while working.

I'm not even sure propylene glycol is even worth bringing up since it's been used in asthma inhalers since the 1950s.

Just because a scientific study hasn't been done that does not mean we lack evidence of the effects of inhaling the ingredients used in ecig liquid. Outside of the nicotine there really is nothing else that is known to be the slightest bit toxic.

I have to agree that anything this good can't be bad for you... esp the Wild Cherry.... lol

but, I suppose I'm betting a few years either ON or OFF my life that this isn't as bad as cigarettes.........

don't get me wrong...... this has been the only thing that has ever worked to get me off of cigarettes,
been smoking 30 odd years...... and vaping made it easy......

but, if I'm not vaping.. I can guarantee that I am back to smoking.... no matter how bad it smells.....

just my two cents....... don't need to agree with me.. just sayin'

Properly made e juice is better to inhale than the dust and particles in the air in many environments commonly around us. Proper delivery is the question. There are so many methods of delivery from low quality e cigarettes soldered together in China that last for a few days, (not recommended) to fully adjustable mods and tanks with no parts that can burn and toxify you. You can make vaping as safe as medical aspirators if you know what you are doing.

Rootbeer is tasty but I made my own and it kept getting a burnt taste...I think it caramelized on the coil....

When I was brand new to this I was a little worried about the health concerns and I did my research and made MY decision to switch because I realized that I was not likely to quit any other way. Has anyone ever inhaled their device through a tissue? White as can be! I make my own stuff so I know whats in there, I don't ever use the crap found in gas stations that looks like an analog and now that I wrap my own coils I avoid the soldering materials of factory made coils.

I would like to find a way to drop some b12 in my juice though..... any ideas?
