Last night, my first real night out in a few weeks, my m401 was fine, until I got to the pub and my redlight battery starts activating all on it's own.. I think "hmm liquid problem" and I go to the bathroom to blow it out and give it a clean.. the problem persists, So the entire night I had to stick to one battery, and charging it in the PCC when it died, so I had to wait 30 mins or so just to get enough charge in it for a quick vape.

And then the best thing ever happened ¬_¬ my only working battery went on the fritz, it stopped letting me draw for a while, then I'd have to take an absolutely insanely strong draw to get anything outta it..
So annoyingly today, I've purchased 10 Marlboro Lights to see my head through the day ¬_¬

Gonna have to spend the last of my weeks wages on a couple of batteries.. so frustrated!
it's almost as if Karma decides when to .... you over...

This is not really pertaining to your problem but I have a question. You bought 10 marlboro lights? Now, I see you are from England, can you buy single cigarettes there or did you buy from a friend? Just curious.

That's the very reason I always have 5 and more batteries and atomizers with me all of the time. You never know when one may quit.

Awww too bad! Those M401 autos are activated by a mic switch (noise) and are famous for going off in pubs and places you don't want them to. Maybe it is time to get a few manual batteries for when you are in a place that has lots of noise? Yes, with vaping you really need to be prepared for this sort of thing. I think that the batteries and atomizers that are made are so inconsistent in quality.

For instance, I have had atomizers that died on me in one day and I have some atomizers that I have been using for months!

They say it is best to have multiple items so that you can rotate the usage of your attys and bats.

I always bring some spares. When I fly I usually go a little over board, I will bring 3 complete 510's, 2 complete 901's and 2 Tornado's. I also bring some extra carts just in case so I don't have to worry about liquid. By the time I get to my room I've only used 2 batteries, but safer than sorry.

My $2.50 batteries never activate on their own. And since they last about 7 hours on a charge, I don't worry about having to carry extra batteries. That's a real bummer. I guess I would try a different battery.

I second this purchase. My main batts are now all manual switches. Still have a few autos though.

Not really related to the subject, but I do miss the flexibility of buying cigs in England - was over there for a few months and was so jealous that you can buy packs of 10 cigs, not just 20! Some shops even had single cigs you could buy... especially now when I'm trying to make the switch, I wish I could buy a smaller amount so that I am less tempted to just finish my pack of 20 T_T

I've ran into similar problems, and I fixed those problems by buying a tornado/eGO. Now I just need my eGO a 3ml bottle of juice and I'm set for the entire day.

Maybe it's your atty instead of your battery. When my atty starts to dim it really sucks the power out of my batteries. I really spoil myself and have a fresh atty every week or two now that I've learned what a difference it can make. I've only replaced one set of two batteries in the year I have been vaping, but I've probably been through 50 atomizers.

Try to save up the money and get a eGo kit.

Then you can kiss your reliability problems goodbye!!

Dave, it is the technology of a pressure activated battery in some of the automatic batteries, (but not all auto models).

This particular technology doesn't distinguish between positive, negative and vibration pressure. They're only good for at home use or in a quiet space, some are more sensitive than others (luck of the draw). Any bass, engine noise (motorcycles are bad on them), wind through a car window or outside, shaking, tapping, a drummer (burning his pants) and other vibrations or very loud noises set them off. There are lots of people who have given stories about having batteries that go dead or losing atomizers because they are activated while not using them.

It is best to disassemble them when not using.

If you want pneumatic autos (activated by air flow from the draw on a mouth piece), you'll need to ask suppliers specifically which technology the one you are buying has... I understand that emsmokershop had them, but it is best to ask to be sure. My 401s sit in a box these days... lol.

Yeah Tuna, a 510 is a good thing, but the 401 is doable if you understand the limitations!!

There are manual batteries which are activated by pressing a small button, and there are automatic batteries which are activated either by either sound or pressure. The problems you described are all due to the use of automatic batteries, and yet it sounds as if you just purchased more of them rather than getting a couple of manual batteries.

I am aware of manual & auto batteries, I only ordered a couple of manuals because they're going to the quickest to arrive (tomorrow hopefully) when I next get paid I can splash out on some autos.
