Well, that's just greatFor those who send out packages on a regular basis, this could be a bit damaging! Who wouldn't open a message from the USPS shortly after something has been sent or expected for delivery?
I wouldn't, because when you receive something the shipping company doesn't have your email address. The shipper does.
Unless the shipper has given the USPS your address and asked to notify you of updates. That's always been an option available to me when I've handled shipping charges online.

I've never used it either. The way I look at it, I have the tacking number. If there is a question, I call them.
Yep. I'll provide the tracking number and let the shippee decide if they want to check the site or sign up for email notices. I don't give out other people's addresses (email or otherwise) because it's not my place. On the other hand, it *is* an option and I'm sure someone has used it before.
But the fact remains, regardless of logic, an ungodly number of people will open an email simply because it claims to be from an "official" place. It's amazing to me how often I've had to clear out malware and rootkits from people who've opened an email "regarding your account" from banks they didn't have an account with. :shakeshead:

Luckily, someone else in Nigeria offered to track down the person who scammed me and get my money back. It was twice as much as I originally lost, but I'm doing it on principle.
Say, we've still got 19, 43, 45, 47, 48, 51, 52, 54, 57, 59 and 62 unaccounted for. If you have one of these "missing" Hogs, please consider filling in the blank spots on the list.

I had added my name a while back and then it disappeared, what's up with that!
I think it's mainly people updating at the same time and thus editing the same base list and creating a few different lists with different gaps. Then after a while someone just finds the most recent list on the forum and updates it, making it "the new list" but inadvertantly leaving someone(s) off...
I've captured this one as it seems most compleat. We'll see about trying to maintain a centralized version...
EDIT: If you look at post 6890, I brought the most recent list up and added my name to the bottom. In post 6891, Morgan took that list and corrected her information. In post 6893, Tangier1 edited the list from my post (since it has my info but not Morgan's) to "Ok putting us on here AGAIN LOL". This effectively "deleted" Morgan's correction since subsequent lists have had Tangier and Misha, but not trouble2k's adoption of Hog Mod #6. This is how people keep "disappearing" from the list. I am working on collating and standardizing the list now, so we can at least have a common point from which to start when the VV's go up for general sale...

That's my point--sometimes "the most recent post" changes while you're typing--happens to me all the time (but I type slow).
Three and a half hours into it and I'm only on page 33 (post 1281), but I'm going through the thread post by post and "rebuilding" the list. It's amazing what's been left off and how many hands some have gone through while others are still with the original buyers. But I consider any information posted on the thread (or the board as a whole--I'll be going through the classies next) to be "public information"--and it's filling in quite a few holes...

I haven't monitored this forum for very long, so I haven't conversed with a lot of folks here. But I can only imagine how hard it would be to resist
The problem is that I can't believe I didn't reply to some of them.
