Bianca, wait til you see the new mods he is working on. They just seem to be getting more and more beautiful! By the way, I love your new picture! ;)
I also wanted to see of anyone has tried flying with an e-cig or mod? I dont want security to take it from me.

Well, I'm both excited and scared to see Mike's new mods. ;)

I haven't flown w/ my gear, but my in-laws are set up with 510's and they arrived here recently on a flight from CT and had no issues. They left them in their checked baggage.

I flew from Raleigh through Atlanta to Seattle and back through Philly in June on Delta and United. Had my Joye 510s in my carry on and 3 bottles of commercially labeled juice in my plastic 1 qt carry on liquid bag. TSA never said a word if they even noticed. United now has a "no operational e-cigs" on their planes statement on their website, but someone somewhere else on here had posted that as long as it was disassembled in wasn't "operational". I stealth vaped in the restrooms at the airports (4 hour layover in ATL, yippee). Had no comments from airline personnel or TSA either way.

So I've been thinking about how to do the selling of these mods since I don't like the feeding frenzy that has happened the last few times.
So here is what I propose. Please let me hear your feedback on this.

I will have the ones pictured above available most likely Monday or Tuesday, depending when the switches get here. (had a shipping issue) Those will be posted like normal, first come, first serve.

After the above batch is sold I will start taking requests for mods. When a request is made it will be logged down and you will be able to choose...
1. Type of wood for body
2. Type of wood for caps and inlay
3. 3.7v using 18650 batt and 6ml bottle $110 OR VV using 18350 batts and 6ml bottle $160
4. Gloss or Matte Arm-R-Seal finish (best protection), Tung Oil finish, Danish Oil finish, Boiled Linseed Oil finish, or Teak Oil finish
5. Choice of LED bottle illumination. Choices are White, Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, and No LED

When a request for a mod is made It will go into a journal of mods to make in what order and I will do my best to get it made in a timely fashion. Understand that the list might get long and "Timely" might mean it might take quite a bit of time.
When the requested Mod is finished I will contact the person that has requested the Mod and they will have 3 days to Pay for the mod so that it can be shipped. If payment is not made within those 3 days the Mod will be offered up to first come, first serve on the forum.
I will try to keep the mods coming out in order of of requests but please understand that if I have wood on hand to finish someones mod request that was placed after yours but I'm still waiting on your wood to ship, theirs will most likely be done first.
I will post a list of wood I currently have access to locally before I start taking requests. If the wood you desire is difficult to obtain or quite a bit more costly than the exotics I have available locally, the cost of your mod might slightly increase in price or require a deposit to obtain your wood. This will be discussed with you after your request has been made and I can locate your desired wood.

Sooooo whatcha guys think?

Sounds like an excellent plan to me. Part of the feeding frenzy is because people don't know when they will be able to get one so they go into snatch'n'grab mode, like a Black Friday sale.

Just make sure you have a decent-sized journal, I'm sure you'll be getting a lot of orders, especially since people will be able to order the wood/combination they want and will have a bit of time to "save up" for it while it is being made ;)

Dude .. that's basically what I suggested you a while back ... "Every Hog A Custom Order" .. perfect and then you aren't competing against the commercial manufacturers!!

I would even offer a small brass plaque for an extra $5 that says something like:

Hog # XXX
Custom-made for
YYYYYYYY ZZZZZZZZ
August 13, 2011

Our local trophy shop charges us about 5 bucks for engraved brass plaques. I don't think a buyer would complain about an extra 5 spot for something absolutely custom!!!

Keep up the excellent work!!!!!

The only blue county in Texas!
And since Cleos buying everyone mods and it'd be silly of her to buy me a mod that I make, ill settle for some this in the red or black please. It'll be a custom order, so when your ready I'll let ya know the sizes I'll need :)

Those are wood burls that have been infused with acrylic in a pressure pot with dyes added in.
The ones there are not thick enough or wide enough to use to make a mod from. I'm sure Custom ordered sizes are available but as it is those ones posted that are just under what I need to do one side of a box are $20 each plus shipping.
I hear they are quite easy to work with but can chip easily on some of the saws. I have not used them before.

I like this idea! Takes a lot of pressure off of people wanting to buy a Hog - though it probably adds pressure to you. :(

I think the only added pressure will be trying to aquire some of the woods that might be requested.
With this requested Mod way, people will get the hog they want, I will have a goal to work towards, and after its made if they choose not to purchase it, it will be available to anyone else.
I do not plan to have a set time frame of when a mod will be completed after it is requested. I know this is not exactly what people want to hear but I currently can not commit to be strapped down in time constraints.
As much as I'd like to just make mods all day I can not. I'm usually at work 9-10 hours a day and have a wife and 2 kids to keep happy as well. Hopefully everyone will understand.
And since its not costing anyone to request a mod, unless you have a really hard to fulfill request, I don't think it will be an issue. Now if we get to a point where lots of people are requesting custom mods and not purchasing them when completed we might have to do something about that.

It looks like a sound plan, Mike. I would suggest, since you are basically making made to order items, a deposit up front wouldn't be unreasonable, especially in situations where wood was requested that you don't normally use (like black walnut :)). I know I wouldn't have a problem with this as it is fairly standard business practice.
