I pull the cotton filling out for a few reasons:

1. Since it's a bottom feeder I'm not concerned with liquid storage from topside
2. The filling, as intended, draws the liquid up from the atomizer portion as it's fed from below and starves the atomizer until the carto is saturated, in a sense defeating the purpose of the bottom feed in the first place
3. To me, the filling interferes with the draw and diminishes the benefit of using low resistance
4. I use thick juice, so cartos didn't really work well for me even before I discovered bottom feeding because too much juice stayed in the filling that would never gravity feed down to the atomizer

I could prolly accomplish the same effect with LR attys and a long drip tip, because that's basically what I reduce it to. But, I had a bunch of cartos and no long drip tips ;)

Wait - You are taking out the cotton filling from the cartos? I am confused. Will anybody explain to the poor confused girl?

Yup, both from the same board. It is birdseye maple, just not very heavy on the birdseye in it

I guessed right! Oh! Does that mean I win it?!?!?

Describing it as "not very heavy on the birdseye" is not the way to talk about such a beauty! Here let me........
It is a beautiful detailed birdseye maple. Not overwhelming birdseye, instead the eyes are minimal and therefore stand out more!

They sure caught my eye!

lol I dunno if they stay the different shades that they are right now you could definitely see the difference between the two.
Purpleheart gets darker the longer it is exposed to UV light, one day you might not be able to tell the difference in shades.
But don't hold me to that, i'm not a Purpleheart expert by any means.
