Just ordered the Orange LE from the flash sale. Was gonna pass on this mod because of the size but for under $48 shipped it was too good a deal. I was looking for something smaller than my Asolo and all I could find was the minikin and maybe the cuboid but, from what I've read, the chipset in the hΩ wrecker blows both those mods away. Looking forward to getting this in a few days.

It is big & ugly as sin. The chipset menus and operation will be a real adjustment and you should have a very good idea of what vaping under TC is like at various temperatures as you will have to calibrate the temperature setting by your own experience with other mods.

The chipset is very capable once you fully understand its operation but it takes some getting used to. You wont regret the purchase and it gets better with each successive incremental update. It can do things that no DNA mod can and that is satisfying. Plenty of people out there to help but most of the active posters on Hohmtech G2 threads participate on another competing forum serving "Refugees". I'm sure you will find them in short order.

Yeah I think I know where to find them, lol. I've been watching some videos and reading up on it and there's a bit of a learning curve but nothing I can't handle. I haven't been too much into tc up till now. It's a joke on the Asolo and I have a IPV D2 but the battery life is terrible on that even in wattage mode so I've only used it a couple of times. It seems once this is set up its pretty easy to manage. I think I'll get some ss wire and give tc another try.

After the most recent firmware update I'm told that ss TC was greatly improved on the G2 but haven't used it myself.

I've been using the Kanger Protank 4 w/ the Stock Clapton build on the velocity RBA deck since I got it in Kanthal TC mode on the G2 with awesome results. Very predictable TC Behavior & since it is top fill & I don't have to remove to refill I don't get problems with having to regularly re-calibrate after filling like some complain of but I have seen it once or twice.

I use a TFV4 w/ stock quad coil on one Slice and on the other I'm using a Talos tank with the stock Ceramic Kanger coil from the Protank 4 again both in Kanthal TC Mode with very stable and great results. I am certainly a DNA Fan owning over a Dozen, but find myself very much enjoying the FSK boards capabilities.

I just grabbed this from vaporcube, heard so many mixed opinions on it, I use mostly SS(316) and RDAs(Stumpy, Velocity, Buddha) and a couple tanks(Lemo, Smok Tf-RTA mainly).

Is it accurate and is the 510 connection strong?

Came to under 50 with shipping.

I am coming from the RX200 and the TC liked to jump in and out, and always get "Is this a new coil message", TC felt odd on it, is this gonna be better? Thanks

You get the 151 or the G2? Either will be a steep learning curve from a JT RX200 but once you get used to the menus and calibrating it to your liking it should serve you well. The 151 by its nature of not being firmware update-able is a bit more limited, but will still provide a marked improvement over an RX200.

G2 and Slice are more desirable as the updates make them operate better over time as the TC Modes heuristics are improved. If you see a black friday sale on either they are highly recommended. Slice is much more ergonomic, but limited to 101w.

It is definitely better than the RX200 and 200S. My RX has that same tendency to jump out of SS TC as well, mostly with my rebuildables.

There is a learning curve but once you figure out what works for you it is a great vape.

Make sure you read the owners manual, there may be an updated version on there website. Last I checked I think the Slice manual is more complete than the G2 manual. They both operate the same way so you can read either one.

First mistake most make including myself is you have to clear resistance when changing tanks. Remove the old tank and hit the fire button, it will say connect atomizer. Then screw on the new tank within 15 to 30 seconds and tap the fire button to read the new resistance. If you wait too long it will revert to the old resistance and read damaged atomizer if the range is far off, say old .16 ohm and new 0.25. If you get the damaged atomizer message and you know the tank is fine then unscrew the tank until you can hit fire and it says connect atomizer. Then just screw it back down, tap the fire button and your good to go.

The only thing with the 510 on the G2 is it is not crazy about tanks with long 510's. If you encounter a tank that always gets a damaged atomizer warning you can put a drip tip oring on the 510 connection to raise it enough. The only tanks I have had to do that for is the Horizon Arctic V8 and Cerakoat and I own a lot of tanks and a dozen RDA's.

As has been mentioned earlier the "other" forum is more active in regards to the Hohm G2 and Slice. There are people here who are willing to help though so don't hesitate to ask for help if needed.

I see, the Velocity has a long 510 I think, should that be an issue?

I got the G2
Tpat591

Not real sure but it might, sometimes it just needs a little time for the 510 of the G2 to break in. My first G2 I had problems the first day or 2 but after that it was fine, not sure why to this day. I have since gotten 3 more G2 and never had the same problem.

One odd thing for me is the Tobecco Supertank mini with the tobecco coil did not work on either my G2 or Slice. Swapped the coil to the Aspire triton and it worked perfectly. I know the tobecco coil was not bad, it worked on my other mods but for some reason the Hohm mods didn't like it at all. I know it works differently than any other chip on the market, if I remember correctly from a video it "pings" the coils to measure for changes. Not even sure what that means, all I know is it works.

Before the G2 I was a power user 90% of the time, always thought TC was a bit too anemic for me. Now I use my G2 and Slice in TC 100% of the time, feels like power mode with boost but I can vape my cotton dry and not hack up a lung from a dry hit. I also don't feel it pulsing like some mods in TC, the Alien comes to mind in SS316 mode, the pulsing has me switching to power mode most of the time.

I really do like my DNA mods and plan on buying a Therion or Finder DNA167 when I can find the right price. It is more of a smooth vape for TC, no pulsing but at the same time lacks a little of the punch the G2 has. For use in power mode the DNA's are not the top choice, no preheat for power which is on so many other mods these days. A lot of people enjoy a smooth vape and the DNA's are hard to beat, you can get the same vape from the G2 but the DNA may have the edge there. The G2 is what Raymo2u (the coil builder) uses for his VW device, all his other mods are Mechs. This is why I gravitated towards the G2, I like a mech/power like vape but after reading his posts figured the G2 was what would get me into TC and he was right.

DNA can preheat in power mode by using modified kanthal curve to employ preheat. it will not TC kanthal, but it will preheat.
Oh yeah, forgot someone gave me the file for the kanthal but never tried it out. I use my DNA'S a lot in the car in TC mode, keeps me from going cloud blind....lol.

I do like the preheat settings in the Smok mods, can change it up quick. I do like the Alien, form factor is awesome. Wish I could find the old firmware though, the new 1.2.2 firmware made the SS316L TC worse, either it cuts off too fast or gets to hot, can't get it just right.

much better 510 than RX200.

much better than Alien.

That's a relief, sounds good, gotta find a deal on batteries now, I usually use HG2 3000mah but was thinking of grabbing the HE2 2500mah since I found a sale, should battery power be much less? I vape around 450f/50w.

Been using LG HE4s 2500mah for quite some time. Usually can find 4pk for $18 on Ebay from Mayfair.

101vape will probably have same price tomorrow.

The battery life similar compared to a 3000mah? I know it's 500mah diff but in real world use does it feel much lesser?

I always vape under TC so never really tried kanthal preheat but I'm told it works. Vaping my alien under 1.2.2 in ss 316 and do notice a slight pulse to it, but not too bad. It is a nice form factor & screen & at $39 w/batteries I can't complain at all. I have had to pull tank from sleep to re-calibrate because it can get wonky and do the too hot or cut off too quick like you say.

I was always too cheap to pay for the HG2s. Never saw a reason to pay $20/pair when I could buy 4 HE4s for same price. More capacity in 4 HE4s than that pair of HG2s will ever have.

I don't think there is all that huge a difference between them. You pull high amps, you get shorter life. You don't, they last longer.

Sounds fine then, as long as I can get through a day with a pair of on and off vaping(5-6ml a day max) at around 50w/450f(What I use on my RX200 with 3 HG2's, I get about 2 days).

Grabbed two pairs here. https://101vape.com/batteries/267-lg-18650he2-35a-2500mah-.html?search_query=18650HE2+&results=2
