Hey guys, been smoking analogs for 8 years, switched to e-cigs are finding out my fiancee was pregnant. I didn't want second hand smoke effecting the future family. So far liking it.

My basic newb questions:

When I went to buy my 510, I figured I was getting a Joye model. There are no markings on it all, so I assume it's a knockoff. Is this bad? Should I stick with it? I'm just worried. Before I even got to use my 2nd battery, I charged it for a few minutes, took it off the charger because it was getting unusually hot, vaped a quick puff, and smoke came out of the 510 power button! (blew the charging board). I have to get it replaced tomorrow.

I found a store down in South Jersey, they specialize in E-Cigs, great place so far. I want to try some new flavors, any recommendations? (Had Vanilla and Camel Med so far)

That is a hard one to answer. Almost all e-cig specific batteries are made in China by a small handful of companies. All are generally good and quality control is highish but not great, occasionally bad parts do get shipped. If your kit came from any decent retailer they will replace it quickly. I would not assume it is inferior because its not branded Joye, a lot of the time batteries are just rebranded to the retailers specifications even though they come from the same manufacturer.

Joye 510 is not marked except possibly on the atomizer somewhere but maybe not even there. They would be marked on their box and little instructions but some people sell no-box kits (I would only buy those from a company I trust that says they are Joye, like Cignot). If you bought it from a reputable vendor and they listed it as Joye then it should be Joye. Clone 510's work - some will just die sooner from lower quality parts and some are fine.

The battery should not get hot or blow out!

The Jersey store may just have Dekang Chinese juices. Are they 100% PG? Some people like the Dekang RY4 and DK-TAB and USA-Mix, I hated the Blackberry. Most people buy US juices that are a PG/VG blend, often higher in PG for more TH (blends like 70pg/30vg and 80pg/20vg, or for less TH and ore vapor try 50/50), Can't recommend flavors without knowing what brand and being familiar with the brand.

You purchased the kit from a store in South Jersey? Do they have any sort of warranty on the kit? Before I purchased anything else from them I'd see if they stand behind their products.

I got an Joye ego from Liberty Flights and it has a 6 month warranty on batteries. It might not seem like a big deal but I figured it out and I would have spent an extra $62 in the 4+ months that I've been vaping if they weren't under warranty.

So before you get anything else from them, find out first what the product is and what's the warranty. The LF ego is $39, the riva is $29 and you get it in about 3-4 days and I'm in NJ too. If I have problems they've sent out replacements before I had to return the defective item. I don't think it's particularly important what brand it is as long as they stand behind their product.

Not trying to talk you out of buying from the store. Things happen with batteries all the time and it's through no fault of the vendor, just happens. I buy a lot from Nhaler because he's also in NJ and shipping is really fast. Where is the store in south Jersey? I'd love to be able to go to an ecig store.

Nope, no markings anywhere.

But, Swedish - not sure about any warrenties, but I called them right after it happend, and they said theyll swap the battery for a new one tomorrow (they were getting ready to close).

Is Nhaler a vendor here?

The store is called 9 South Oddities, it's on main st. in Tuckerton. I asked they said they have been open for about a month. About 30-40 juice selections, and they had the 510, ego, ego-t, some accessories.

I can get the number if you need?

Well, if they're going to replace the battery, that sounds good! I have a 510 too and really like it. But for all day, I use the ego so I don't have to mess with batteries. Give their juice a try. But look at the bottle, if it's all PG that might be a little harsh. Most of the juice that comes with kits isn't very good at all. The juice he carries might be better. It'd be great if it was.

Nhaler doesn't have a store, he's just online. I believe he's in North Jersey.

Here is a pic of it all.

Plus the blown battery, which oddly enough, hasn't stopped blinking since 5 PM today...???

Hey, where is this place in South Jersey? Is it a brick-and-mortar store? I'm in the Philly area (surprise surprise) and am looking for a place to browse around...
