Forget what gauge, but it's at .4 ohms. Any tips? I tried giving it a little room so air can go to both sides and not just through the middle.

I been wanting an authentic bottom AF rda and I've been back and forth between the holmes and the freakshow. The description of the v2 on vapordna says it has four different air hole size options, which from my understanding is the same as the v1. From the looks of it, the only difference between the two is the barrel, the v2 barrel is a two piece design where the bottom part is threaded and the top cap is held in place with o-rings and can be popped off. The v1 has a single piece barrel held together by o-rings.

I own a v1, and it's got a one-piece barrel/topcap which is threaded on. Sounds like they swapped it to two pieces with threading and o-rings to make it easier to drip into.
If you're on the fence, my Homes v1 is stellar. 'Course, I don't own a Freakshow, but everybody loves 'em...

Damnable Cigreen, man.
I got the Holmes v1 a while ago and haven't stopped using it since. Perfect atty, right? And I dreamt of a MiniHolmes. Single coil, in 16ish mm? Mmmmm.
So what do they do?
Screw up the existing Holmes' design?
...
The hell?

I read that they removed half of the airflow (only 2 air holes now). I am very disappointed; I thought I was essentially getting a Holmes v1 but they seem to have ruined it.

If that is the case, I agree. The four air holes is what makes the holmes rock.

I just received a Holmes v2 and it has four air holes feeding into the two "air posts", same as the v1. So the only things changed are the two-piece top cap (so you don't have to unscrew the whole top cap off to refill, just pull off the top part), and a slightly less efficient heatsink (the grooves aren't as deep, and there's only two grooves, not three). However, there is a Delrin insulator built in to the drip tip hole, so it should keep the drip tip cooler than the v1 even with the decrease in heat dissipation from the heatsink. There is also a pattern machined into the heat sink that (sort of) matches the pattern on the airflow ring.

On mine, the o-ring holding the top part of the cap is extremely tight, but it should loosen up a bit over time. I'd rather have it too tight in the beginning than too loose anyways.

Overall, I would consider it an upgrade. Big upgrade in convenience, slight downgrade in heat dissipation via the heatsink, but the Delrin insulator compensates for that. The top from my TOBH v2.5 (which has four deep grooves on the heatsink) fits on the Holmes v2, and the drip tip stays just as cool with that as it does with the Holmes v2 heatsink.

My V2, like many others, leaks through the insulator in the deck into the airflow section. Love the atty, best nickel coil RDA I have found, but the leaking makes it pretty much unusable. I could probably figure out a fix, but just haven't had time. The v3 is in the works, hopefully it will be the great 2 post RDA many are looking for.

There doesn't seem to be any leakage with mine. Obviously, if you tilt the atomizer too far when there is a pool of liquid in the deck, it will leak down into the airflow section, but no leakage thus far for mine through the deck itself.

Mine leaked directly through the 510 and has been sitting on the shelf ever since. A shame because it was easy to work with and gave great flavor.

I just filled my Holmes v2 with water (I only use 100% VG based liquid, so it's pretty syrupy) and let it sit for 3 hours on top of a paper towel. Not a drop leaked through. I'll do it again before I go to bed and leave it sit with water overnight and report back, but I don't expect it to leak (if it lasted for 3 hours with no leaks, it will probably last for 8 hours).

Since you're obviously past the option of exchanging it, you could always try some plumber's tape (teflon tape / thread seal tape / etc.) on both the 510 threads and the deck threads. That should take care of any leakage as long as it's not leaking via the post/deck joints.
