I've never once had this happen when I used to use ... cotton(130 "sigelei" watts on a dual fused clapton @ .14 ohm, a very very warm vape), are you making sure the cotton is saturated? Not just wet, saturated. When you add additional juice it shouldn't even wick anymore, it should just drip to the bottom of the well. Not saying you should over drip like crazy, but at least make sure those first few draws have good and saturated wicks.
