What are you doing here ?

I was happy for Iffy to write up a 'how-to' but he eventually declared he couldn't be bothered. So I did it; if you don't like it, tough; just stop the hijacking.

twitch.gif My, my... are we running low on nicquid across the 'pond'?

No one has hijacked your thread! In fact. you've been praised for doing what I couldn't handle at the time. Since you've been absent for a week from this thread, others have stepped up to field the questions that have been asked. Now that you're back, we should step aside and stop all discourse?

Really, I didn't realize that this thread was just for your glory... mea culpa. This and the original thread has been a terrific endeavor and fun project that has benefited many. But now we're gonna start bickering, being petty and requiring 'passports'? C'on, Rodney King would really be disappointed...

I, now, can understand how you would consider wyojoe and me weird, as you stated in the other thread. Oh wait, another incoming edit... OK, now you're amused by the weird. Glad we can entertain ya!

BTW, this new 'Auto Saved' is kinda neat! You've really been a busy lil' beaver editing and re-editing. ... icon_wink.gif

You cant' have it both ways - you say on the one hand that I tried to 'take over' the thread, and on the other hand that I 'was absent'.

I object to the two of you coming here to post only that 'your thread' is "best" and linking to it; not bad in itself but it is the tone and a long-running one. (Wyojo's follow-on post made it clear that this was a sniping; I didn't have a problem with yours.) Sorry if you have a problem with 'foreigners'; if not that then i dont know what your problem is.

I'd like to end the sillyness but you just won't stop. I left the other thread because of the sniping and then you turn up here to do the same.

ps: I have myself linked to the original thread - twice.

pps: don't get the 'passports' refrence - mixing up with someone else ?

I don't think myself or Iffy are saying your thread is not as good as the other thread. When I said it was the best I meant it has alot of information and excellent pictures to help us understand how it works and how it looks. I also agree that the original post is very long, but its still useful. I also think your post is a good thing and not so much to read thru. You have spent a lot of time on the other post and have spent alot of work and time here, and that is helpful, its gets others to think about the tanks. Now if you don't want anyone else to post their Knowledge or experiences on this thread, then its looks like you want a one man show (YOU) and thats not what we do here at the ECF, we all try to help one another and share our Ideas. I feel Iffy and myself are misunderstood by you, we are just trying to be helpful, just like you are. I hope this seems reasonable to you. Keep up the good work.

But you didnt post anything useful here, just pointed to the original (Iffy) - fair enough - but then (you) add a post that simply praised the original thread.

Let's drop it and concentrate on the vaping :)

Useful to who, YOU? I was agreeing that his post was informative and anyone including you would praise the original post with all we have learned from it. Your post like I said, is smaller and its nice that you will update anything new you see on the other post.

Useful to tank newbies.

I wrote this summary only because i wanted to see it done. I did it well (I hope, tried anyway) because that's my way, not for some glory. If that's how it's seen, I'll be more slap-dash next time. I;m just writing up others' ideas; so many people involved, even f only to say, 'I made one and this or that worked well / or otherwise. So I didnt try make a list as that would be hard to do.

You asked wyojoe, "What are you doing here?" because you perceived a conspiracy against your thread and/or a slight to your ego; otherwise, you wouldn't have originally written what you did and then edit your comments. Do you realize how weak and low that appears to the membership? Do you... no you don't!

I truly have no idea of what I've done to you to warrant your comment about wyojoe and I being "weird"! My 'passport' comment was to highlight your implication that some responding to this thread would need your stamp of approval. Predictably, it went over your head.

And as to your "Sorry if you have a problem with 'foreigners'" comment... I'm a naturalize US citizen. Do you know what that means? I'm also a retired member of the USAF. I've seen more than most, served where others didn't want to go and assisted more 'foreigners' than you'll ever be able to. Does that give me any 'edge'? Noper! But it has given me a sense of humor and keen nose for BS and attitudes. So you take your self-righteous sanctimonious sniveling attitude and get your jollies from someone that will take your crap. I won't!

Should we post an ECF poll to determine who's strange? I don't think you'd agree the results.

In order to return to the purpose of this forum and thread, this will my last on line response to you. If you wish to continue this, do please PM me.

To the rest of the ECF, I finally decided to retire my first syringe tank carto after about five weeks. What a ride! I could still use it, but the flav is beginning to wane a bit. The vapor was still massive! The tank is still truckin'...

In order to live up to accusations...
My grateful thanx to my4jewels for the original THREAD. thumbsup.gif

You just won't let it go - sigh.

I multi-edit just about every post, so that's nothing special.

I'm happy to just drop it, even you think that means i'm giving in or admitting some wrong doing or whatever you will imagine next. Let's just say its just misunderstandings - these happen.

If not, add me to your ignore / invisible list - simple.

Like a guote from the movie Cool Hand Luke, What we have here is a lack of communication. Iffy, WOW 5 weeks, I put my last one i'm using now on my calendar so I can tell how long it lasts. I love these tanks and like you said the tanks will last. At least until you loose it or run over it with a car. LOL

That is quite amazing, given that we're supposed to toss the carto after it's 1ml is used up. Refilling 5 times might get you just 2 days use. Yet it's not the making a $1-2 carto last so much longer that's the greatness of the tank, but the why - that we've avoided so much burning filler :)

I agree the carto's last so much longer in a tank because the filler always stay moist.

Here's an extra feature that shows promise.

1) Take a silicone carto end cap and use an old carto to bite through the end so that one has a silicone ring.

2) Position this ring so that it is over the saddle-valve made inlet.

3) Use a craft knife to cut an X into the silicone over the inlet; about 5mm wide.

This works rather like the automatic switch in an auto battery - a vacuum effect. In simple terms, the air pressure of sucking on the carto opens the valve, at least when the filler is drier (a wet filler will hold the flaps of the X closed - resist them opening). Sounds reasonable :)

It's kinda like I was musing some posts back about a way to have an automatic valve with something on the carto side that operated the valve as it expanded or shrunk - duh, the filler can play that role, nothing else needed :) It sounded wierd previously but I thought there might be a way to do it simply - and how simple is this ! Besides letting the filler be the valve operator use air pressure by having a valve that has a lighteight membrane and use the air pressure as the opening force and the filler the resisting force, to the extent that it is damp (expanded/more solid).

In short, damp filler resists the X flaps opening; air pressure drop from sucking tries to pull open the flaps; if the filler is getting dry, the flaps open and let some e-liquid in. And because the X valve is naturally normally closed, no leaking overnight.

This sounds promising. One small, free extra piece and will work with syringe tube or small plastic bottle. This might even be a winner, solving the variability in ideal hole size !

If you have a carto where the inlet hole was made too large, this addition should make it work better.

Updates :

* Sandpaper can be used to easily remove any glue after peeling off carto wrapper. Wrap the carto with sandpaper and twist the carto. Much better than using liquids that might get into the carto.

* A pipe-cutter can also be used to create the carto-casing slot; rock it and forth slightly until you have a slot about 3-4mm long.

The 6ml dripper bottle method.

A 6 ml dripper bottle can be used instead of a syring to make the tank.

It even has some advantages: no rubber parts, is more solid, and slightly slimmer but with the same or slightly more liquid volume (as the ends are slimmer than with the syring method).

This idea originated with NightLightVapor (NLV) here.

Works for an 808 or 510 carto.

Cut the threads off the top part of the bottle with a craft knife; a little more if the carto will not fit first time.
