Ok, this is just a general question and was checking everyone's opinions.

Would you consider smoking a hookah once a week with friends as cheating? I've sworn off analogs but that has real tobacco. So would anyone consider this cheating? I'm just trying to gain some perspective on it.

And part 2. My friend wants to know if there is such a thing as an electronic hookah? We've looked but haven't had any luck.

well, cheating? no! is it bad for you? yes! as i am sure you know hookah is liquid tobacco.

that said a fry-up is bad for you, KFC is bad for you, so is any fatty foods, drinking. Its all bad for you, but it doesn't stop you enjoying the odd chinese takeaway does it?

I say have your hookah, its only once a week. TBH there is no point to life without its little pleasures, so if you enjoy the occasional hookah, have it!

No, I wouldn't consider it cheating. Though I have only hookah'd (? lol) once.
It was so much more like vaping than smoking. The tobacco in the Hookah was never lit - there was no combustion of tobacco. They just put hot coals on the foil covered bowl. When we were done, the tobacco was still there, not ash. Admittedly we were and still are hookah noobs, but it bore no resemblance to smoking but plenty of similarities to vaping in my opinion.

E Hookahs courtesy of theladyd in another post.

I guess I'm different in that I don't consider e-cigs "quitting smoking" I'm just doing it better now. I had an analog today because someone bummed me one and the ecig was in the car...didn't phase me in the slightest, as a matter of fact they taste like dog..... to me now.

cheating *shrugs* I suppose you could be ashamed for stepping out on the beautiful thing that is the e-cigarette :D

Well, I don't even consider having an occasional analog cheating myself. I'm not too fond of snus, and I like reminding myself how little I like cigarettes. I mean, hell, I gave my friend the rest of the Newport he gave me (after 3 puffs) because I didn't like it.

Now, hookah isn't something that's "addicting" since it's not really something you'd crave. Hookah's not the healthiest, but what little you do consume, it's not going to affect you. (a carton of cigarettes every year won't hurt you much, why should a hookah you smoke every now and then bother you?)

I mean, hell I left hookah bars to go on smoke breaks. I can't call hookah cheating.

I don't consider it cheating. In fact I have plans to go to a hookah bar with some friends next week, and I plan on hookah-ing(eh?). My perspective may be skewed a little, though. I wouldn't think of smoking cloves as cheating either, they always seemed like a novelty thing to me although I know many people smoke them like any habitual smoker. I wouldn't think twice about asking someone for a Djarum Special, if they had one, and enjoying every second of it. I can't say for sure that I'd enjoy it, but I'd try one to see if I still did. Tobacco cigarettes are the only thing that I developed a habit for. Before I smoked I could chew tobacco for a few days or a week and then not bother with it for as long as I wanted. My 2¢.

Is it cheating....well that depends and it is really up to you. If you swore an oath that you would never ever smoke tobacco again and then you smoke then perhaps you can call it cheating. But if you are trying to be more healthy and not smoke and you feel that once a week is good and you enjoy it then you are not cheating.
I tried some snuff a couple days ago and I enjoyed it. I am still vaping all day, and taking a little snuff in the morning and a little at night. It makes me happy and I like it so for me it is not cheating.
Do what makes you happy, if you vape most of the time and only smoke a hooka once a week I think that is great! Way better than smoking every day all day and then smoking a hooka once a week also!

I also enjoy a good hookah. I have a few and smoke them quite a bit. Not that this is ENTIRELY backed by scientific proof, but I consider hookah to be "vaping" rather than smoking. I agree with Lalesa, the shisha is merely "roasted" rather than burned when you smoke it so it comes out as more of a vapor than a smoke. That's just my two cents, feel free to dispute it or take it as you wish.

It's not cheating, not at all.

I've been explaining to people for months that when a hookah is properly used, the tobacco (or "shisha" as it is commonly referred to) in the hookah is vaporized, not burned. So what you're inhaling is vapor, not smoke. If any tobacco is burned while using a hookah, then the person tending to it doesn't know how to do so properly. At the end of a hookah session, none of the shisha should be burnt or charred, it should be dried out and crisp, but pretty much the same color as it was originally.

As far as the second part of your question, I am only aware of one e-hookah currently available for purchase, and it's something like $300. However, I have seen other companies that have e-hookah models which they plan to launch in the near future.
