well seeing's as they posted there equipment under the first post I assuming its just a standard ego and clearomizer setup I really think this is nicotine related and not general vaping related me I just vape on the same set no cloud chasing for me. but after all we are all different and have different tolerance to nicotine

Goes to show how different we all are. I was a 2+ PAD smoker too, but 18 or 24mg would kill me. Seriously. I was getting sick feeling from 6mg.

^^^^^That was my experience as well. I dropped to 12mg my 1st week vaping, even though I smoked a pack a day

Also got horrible heartburn when I got any juice in my mouth and actually swallowed it.

Thanks for all the concern everyone! Really great to have a bunch of support. Let me paraphrase some of my story since it was so long lol. I've been to the ER twice and both times they said nothing was wrong with my heart, so that makes me a TON more comfortable. Although I also know that I need to follow up with my doctor at the VA because there COULD be something that the ER missed. I'm definitely not thinking it's anything related to my heart anymore. I'm actually starting to think it's a respiratory virus and this is why.

As of right now, I have very little pain in my chest, however, it feels like the pain is moving to the middle of my back (clear sign of something respiratory). Also now i'm having "flu-like" symptoms. You know how when you have the flu you're like constantly cold and have those full body aches? That's what i'm experiencing now so i'm pretty sure it's some type of virus, although i'm not a doctor so I can't diagnose anything lol. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow morning though and making an appointment. I really want to thank everyone for all the support and good wishes though, never expected that from being a noob on here lol!

I also will be taking all of your suggestions at heart. I will be dropping my nicotine level. I only smoked about 7-10 cigarettes a day so i'm guessing 24mg nicotine is way too high! I'll be changing that. I'll also be looking into getting a more quality made vape pen. I also should probably add that I wasn't vaping like I should. Instead I was vaping pretty much constantly all day. There would only be maybe 30 minutes out of the day that I wasn't vaping, so yeah too much nicotine for way too long, certainly spells disaster lol. So I'll be stopping that as well. Thanks again though everyone and hopefully I can update this thread in a couple days saying that I'm perfectly fine with no symptoms!

It might seem like a weird suggestion, but use a timer (I use one on my phone). I figured out how much on average I would smoke during the day. For me it was 2 cigarettes per hour. I'd let myself vape for 10 minutes, than not again for 20-30 minutes.

For you it might be more like 15 minutes every one or two hours... whatever works.

There's a huge tendency to just vape all day, especially when we're first quitting cigarettes. You're not unique in saying you were vaping constantly all day. Lowering your nicotine and giving yourself some limits might really help a lot.

But do stay in touch with your doctor and stay on top of your symptoms! Most of all, feel better!

Hi, you have had very solid advice from everyone here and I think they are dead on about the nicotine. You were not a very heavy smoker and to vape 24mg nic constantly is pretty close to nicotine poisoning levels even with an ego type set up. The symptoms you described are right in line with that type of poisoning. The nausea you descibe, did you have pain or ache in the lower abdomen right or left side? Nicotine or any other poison affects your Liver and Pancreas first so that makes you feel really sick and sweaty, you will usually have the shakes and dizziness as well. The pancrease or even the gall bladder can cause right arm and mid scapular ache (not sure why but it can manefest refered pain). You do need to be checked out by your MD. but take matters into your own hands for now drop the nic level to no higher than 12mg, 8mg might be better. Your gear has nothing to do with your problem and if you vape constantly than 8mg might just be your best level. Everyone has encouraged you to drink more water, listen to them this will help clear whatever nicotine build up you have in your system through your kidneys and also keep you from the added problem of dehydration that all Vapers have to watch out for. Hope your feeling much better soon, but see a Medical pro for a work up. OH and welcome to the forum hope to see you around and all well.

I've experienced similar symptoms when getting too much nicotine off gum and lozenges, too. So - I agree with what others have said here - you were smoking about what I did per day, and I only vape 12 mg (SOMETIMES 18, but when I use 18 I'm careful) out of a tank, and only 6mg when I drip.

Definitely see your doctor if this persists. In the meantime, drop the nicotine levels a bit and see if that helps. If you are keen on following up on the possibility of heartburn/GERD, you can always get 2 week courses of Omeprazole OTC (over the counter) from pretty much any pharmacy.

Came back to update everyone on my status. Well I'm happy to report that it is absolutely nothing to do with my heart, and nothing to do with vaping! Unfortunately, it is acid reflux on top of pneumonia. Both of which were causing me to have anxiety attacks. WOW! I never usually get sick or anything, but when it happens i'm practically bed ridden. Thanks again everyone for all your support and well wishes!

Heartburn is so uncomfortable and if you've never had it before, down right scary.

I don't know if the hospital has put you on anything yet, or if they are waiting for you to see your doctor -- but maybe ask if you could use an OTC medication to get you by? I've used Prilosec in the past and its really helped curtail any further incidents.

Feel better!

Are you sure it has nothing to do with vaping? As others have pointed out some people have more of a sensitivity to the PG/VG ratio. I always took that to mean heartburn or acid reflux. I had it bad when I first started vaping, and like you I was vaping constantly. I started at 18 mg of nic and I am now in the process of stepping down from 12 mg to 6 mg.(steeping). Good luck and thanks for your service.

Yeah actually I shouldn't have said that I guess. Both symptoms could be directly from vaping. I've seen a lot of stories lately about people getting heartburn and acid reflux from vaping. Same thing with pneumonia, inhaling vapor all day can definitely cause it. To be honest it's making me think about going back to analog cigarettes.....

I hope you don't. But even if you need to for a little while don't give up on vaping entirely. Hope you feel better.

Don't know others advice and not going to read it all.
Just read this and pay attention!

First - See and Pay attention to your doctors.
Almost 3 ears ago I collapsed in pain at work. This was after several attacks and me doing everything possible to ignore signs and assume whatever it was would pass on its own.
NOT!!!!!!
Even something that sounds simple like Acid Reflux can be Very Serious. Like special medications for Life serious.
Never once thought I had Heart Burn. Never had the symptoms most express.
Suddenly I thought I was having a Heart attack.
ER thought I had Gall Stones and ordered surgery for Gall removal.
Surgical Specialist locked over all the Data/test and opted for a bit of exploratory instead.(I agreed)

Turned out I had severe acid reflux disease. Lower esophagus severely damaged and 60% restricted. Surgan did immediate corrective measures on the spot.
Still needed a second surgery 45 days later to balloon expand it further.

Have been on medication ever since and no new occurrences.

Vaping can make your lungs feel heavy, for some. High Vg is thicker(Dense) but should not include any Painful experiences like you describe.

Listen and get better.
Best to you!
