ok I have both 28 kanthal and 30. I am currently using the 30 I will have to get a meter tomorrow.. what do I touch the probs to each screw top?

Watch these vids first and ask lots of questions here especially if you have any doubts about what you are doing:

measuring an atomizers resistance with a multimeter - YouTube
Multi-Meter How to for Electronic Cigarette users - YouTube

We don't want you melting your nose or something worse like ruining a REO.:D

p.s: don't get a cheap analog meter

everything above is really, really good advice, but allow me to toss in my 2 pennies, as another relative newbie...

it sounds like you may be new to the wonderful world of Reos and RM2. it might be helpful if you established a baseline, if you haven't already.

by that i mean that when i first started with Reos, i used a particular atty that i found to deliver nicely with whatever else i was vaping at the time. if i tried a different atty, carto, juice, PG/VG combo, or whatever, i could always go back to my baseline for comparison. my baseline became particularly important when i got my first RM2 because i always had a point of reference for comparison.

while i had started with tubesteaks, those didn't really count as baselines for me, i guess because my early choice of Reo+atty already was superior to my tube stuff.

hope this helps.

oh yeh, i'm only permitted to make one useful post per month, so if this happens to be it, you would be well-advised to ignore my usual drivel, at least until the beginning of november...

So I just got my REO Mini 2.1 with my RM2 in the mail..needless to say very excited to try this coming from an ego with a ce4.. so I put it all together with doubled over 3mm silica and 30ga. used 5 wraps and started to vape. The juice I used is what I have been using which is 24mg menthol from V2 ecig been using it for months now first with a V2skinny battery then with the bigger ego. The vapor seems very warm almost hot and the throat hit is crazy hard. I don't have an ohm meter so not sure what that is running at just went by Robs video that's how I came up with making my RM2. Is the vapor always going to be that hot and the throat hit that hard or is there a way to adjust that? The juice is 100 percent PG I believe. I really like the taste of this juice but the throat hit actually makes me cough. Any ideas. maybe a lower nic level?

This is a direct byproduct of going from a basic mod to a REO w/ RM2.

I had to lower my Nic level on the REO and there are some juices I couldn't vape anymore. Made me cough as I was laughing about how hard it hit. lol

I am also new to the Reo and RM2, I used 24 mg nicotine level until I switched to the Reo and RM2. I found my self getting nicotine buzz and had to lower to 18 mg. I find that I like 1 ohm coils, lowest ohm I have tried is .8 which was nice but definitely changed the flavor. My juice started tasting buttery to me at that low ohm. First coil I made was 1.5 ohm which was what I vaped at on my previous atomizer. It was a little too cool for me and wanted a more cigarette like hit so I find 1 ohm coils provide that for me without changing the flavor of the juice. Micro coil was very easy to build, thinning down the wick is a trick. It takes me 2 or 3 tries before I get the wick the correct thickness. Definitely make sure you clean your hands before rolling the wick as all the oils on your hands will change the flavor greatly.

Well I go the ohm meter.. mine was at 1.3 ohms. I made a micro coil with 30ga, 9 wraps it came out to 2.1 what shoul I be shooting for? of course once I switched the coil the other one is useless.. how often should I change the coil and or wick?

The 2.1 should be good for a cooler vape.

Usually the coils last for weeks. The cotton will need replaced as it becomes gunked up or loses flavor. It is up to you. Some change every day. Some go a couple days.

If you don't keep the cotton wet enough it will burn. That would lead to quicker replacement.

Try that 2.1 and see what you think. I like 1.5 to 1.8 for a nice warm vape. I don't want too hot, and I don't like cool!

Shoot me a PM my friend and I will send you out 10 mls of some 18mg 70 vg 30 pg juice to try :) I have koolada which gives that menthol feel to a juice.I can send you some unflavored with the koolada added to it or I can send you some thing with a light fruit and menthol to it .I make a great blueberry ,watermelon ,strawberry, peach or pineapple.I make many others but figure you want something similar in flavor to what you vape now :)

I use to vape high PG juices at 24 mg and since having my Reo have switched to 18mg high VG and its great! Will take me few days to send out but if you want its all yours .
