Hi all. :)

I traded one of my Provari's and 2 Lava tanks for the Zen Standard that was in the classifieds. It showed up today. The guy gave me what was left of the wicks that came with it from Zen. I put a 325 mesh wick and made a 5 turn coil for it. I filled it with AVE Hype 10% PG 90% VG and put in a fresh AW IMR 18650 2000 mah battery. I've now been through 1/2 of the tank of juice. It seems to be wicking fine and the flavor is getting better with every draw. My pinkie is getting fatigued from the button. This button takes more force to push then any other bottom button mod I've owned. I read that you can change the tension of the button. I took mine apart to do so and found their are only 2 thick magnets in the switch not 3. The button also has to travel a lot to make contact with the bottom of the battery to fire the coil. Is there an upgrade to make the button more adjustable so I can have less travel and force to operate it? Does anyone else have this type of 2 magnet switch or is this something the guy I got it off of did?

Tracking says that my new Standard from Zen will be here tomorrow. I will look to see what is different with the switch on it.

Thanks, Fran

Zen,

I wanted to take a moment to address you personally. I try to keep up with this thread as much as I can although mostly i am lurking reading and absorbing, weird for me I guess but work is crazy (we work on commercial swimming pools and work 16 hour 6 days a week for the 3 months leading up to memorial day weekend). I always manage to read a later post trying to skip ahead and then always back track to read what i missed in the evenings.

Anyhow enough about that, the real reason I am writing you is I appreciated what you did here last night. There are few vendors who go out of there way to spur as much excitement and enthusiasm as you do. People follow you not only because of your device but because of the Man you are. Hosting that contest was as generous as anyone could have ever dreamed. I wasnt there for the contest but i could hardly wait to read up to the 20,000 post! Kinda crazy but then the drama started and i thought "oh boy". I read further and your apology was touching.

Things like these seemingly small tokens are the gems of what makes life worth living. In a media driven age where all news is negative and often sets the damper of a tone on the hum drum of the day. My point Zen you believe in your work and your product and appreciate us as we appreciate you. In todaysd age most of us have placed orders with vendors and we get a reciept with some numbers cribbled on it or a thank you which appears to be hand written and the truth is you feel like a number, to coin a phrase. I think that is a big part of the attraction to Zenfidels and the Zenesis. It's being part of something or taking part in something where we dont feel taken for granted. The tokens let us know that we are appreciated and the hope is that one day we be fortunate enough to return to others in the same fashion that you have and expect NOTHING in return for the favor. It was the same as the other night when I came in dead beat waiting for midnight to roll over to check the website to see if ecommerce was up while surfing your thread. The next morning i woke up and read that you had the AYS minis. I bet you made those customers for life. Keep living, dreaming, inspiring and keep rocking on! Thanks Zen.

I am tired and having trouble putting my thoughts into words so I hope it is legible as I am retiring for the night, all I can do to keep my eyes open.. Goodnight all

hey Fran,
before you start switching magnets, give your pinky a break. hold the device in your hand with it resting on said pinky.... don't squeeze with the pinky....MAKE A FIST!!! that will use index and number 2 WAY more than pinky. they are much stronger anyway. see if that helps. if it's still too hard, we'll explain how to change the magnets. remember... DON'T SQUEEZE WITH THE PINKY...IT'S ONLY A BRACE!!!

Sounds like you have a febbie button. That is one from the first batch shipped. Zen changed the design in part to deal with AW IMR 2000 vs 1600. He has been working on switch upgrades for all the febs. You should contact him about that.

The new switch and the one in your arriving standard will have 3 magnets in it. One big one in the bottom that stays always, and two you can move around. The settings can be found in the Faq.

Many people don't actually "press" the button with their pinkie. Instead they use a fist method. Hand out flat, pinkie slightly in, button on slight ledge pinkie makes. Close hand to fist and squeeze to fire.

Yes it was, thank you. Is it just me, or do the ends of the wire look alarming far from the posts to the wick?

It's not you, there is a good amount of space there but since they are so close to the inlet, they don't burn up. The airflow keeps them cool. The draw is right about where you like it too, lots of flow, very easy draw.

How can I tell if I have a "febbie" button?

So it's not an issue because the loose wire sits so far below the airflow hole? But even so, wouldn't performance vastly improve if as much of the wire touched the wick as possible?

i love my Carlos Juicebox, i think it was the first hand built atomizer (and it still runs liek a champ) and it was bottom feeder. Took a little time to work in Carlos atmoizer, but it is great.

The way i see it, with the history of modders you have Trog, then Imeo, then Carlos, then LOTS more thoguh i think Zen has set himself apart

The Juicebox was and is still awesome, im happy i have it and it is a true part of history in Ecigs, same as my original Trog Scredwriver, I only wish i had the cash back then to get an early GG, i doubt ill find an early GG anytime soon.

I have 2 CJBs, they are unique to say the least -- man, when I think of all the mods that have crossed my threshhold........

And yes, yellowman, amajnn's video of the vapezilla and the followup at the St. Louis vapefest are must-sees for all the zenfidels!!!:lthumb:

I switch fingers all the time, BF -- does that even sound appropriate in the least?:lol::lol:
