Oh, hell, I messed it all up. Just trying to pay tribute.

I called it a mod because to say that it was my first APV would imply that I'd tried all kinds of other things first. My goal was to stress that after over 2 years of vaping, it was the first non-mass-produced device that I felt was WORTH going for. I KNOW it's an APV.

Forgive me, oh great and wonderful Zenesis-san....

And can we just drop the APV term while we're at it? It's a PV. Plain and simple. There's no gizmos and gadgets. Current from batter, current to coil, coil heat up, coil vaporize. /caveman

It is certainly more advanced than this CRAP Carto and I JUST opened today and draws like nothing is going on, producing cold, weak vapor on a FRESH batt.

LOL

Ohhh to never use another carto.

Something can still have an advanced design while maintaining a simple and easy end-user experience.

I see that point and I'll counter with this...

The term APV is being picked up and picked up big. I see it everywhere now. We're going to start seeing every PV marketed as an APV soon. PVs with complex electronics that Zen don't like, PVs that make you think when you're using them. Zen has been telling us to forget all that. Just Vape It!

It seems to me that it's counterproductive to Zen's marketing to call it an APV.

Here we have a device that takes away all the complexity of getting a good vape and the creator of the device tells us to forget all we've learned to get a good vape out of other devices, and what's it called?....an APV.

Does it make sense? Maybe to you. To me? NO!

I'm not on a crusade, mind you. I just don't like the term, period! It's a term that scares people away rather than draw them near.

I never understood the pv-apv difference till I saw mac_206 video review of the mini. All his eastern European genisis pvs , which I also own needed substantial modification to get the performance he showed. But the zen mini out of the box was a thoroughbred among quarter horses. No modifications needed and that is refreshing. That is why in my mind there is one apv. The zenesis. I'm sold. And I haven't even vaped my ays hybrid yet.

And that's exactly the reason it's NOT an APV in my, "worthless", opinion.

It's a Simple Personal Vaporizer. Or PV for short. :D

For the sake of discussion:

ad·vanced   [ad-vanst, -vahnst]
adjective

3.
pertaining to or embodying ideas, practices, attitudes, etc., taken as being more enlightened or liberal than the standardized, established, or traditional: advanced theories of child care; the more advanced members of the artistic community.

Sounds Zen to me. ;)

Well, other people will always pick up terms for their products that they think will sell their product. Should Zen change his term every time someone else decides to adopt the same term? We'd have a new term every few weeks and it would become fluid and meaningless. I sort of see your point, I guess, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Sure does.

Unfortunately, to the vast majority of the population it means:

2. New and not yet generally accepted.
