Lol yea that played in it too... I would dive in to go under the boat where a half mile of net full of bad karma had gotten caught in the prop and I had a 4 inch twine knive, in an area where we had be throwing fish guts overboard effectively chumming for hours lol...it would always pucker my rear facing eye, esp in December lol
BRO I may not have wings but dang my arms are closer to wings than my lungs are to gills hmm shark bait deep salt water under the boat with a little bitty knife? not me uh uh no way...not scared just not in the business of saying hey here is a live snack come get it LOL!!!!

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. I use to be a long line tuna fisherman in the Guld of Mexico when I was living in New Orleans, about 20 years ago. I do not miss it. Even though I move to Ohio, Every chance I get to visit my family down there, I take an offshore charter trip to catch grouper and king mackerel, when we get lucky we get a cobia on the line. Those are very tasty at least. Hard way to make a living though. Sometime pay is good when we catch alot of tunas, but sometime we come home empty handed.

Yea longlining gives the fish a choice whether or not to bite the hook, we were gillinetting, more often than not we would "put meat in the box" as they say

OK, fess up...who broke the forum again?

- Tim
Wasn't me. I had just typed a long post with a complex equation on how to get every drop of juice out of a bottle, to include what gets stuck in the dripper top. It was down when I tried to post and now it is lost forever.

Hey Zen~,

At what point do we get our own sub-forum in the Forum Suppliers? There's more activity here most days than some of those sub-forums see in a month :?:

It's true... This is a lively thread...

From what I hear, there's a waiting list that is over a year long. There's also monthly fee that I would gladly pay, but we first have to wait... And there are many good suppliers on that list...

Cool man, nothing like the freedom of working on the water, I work in a hotel now (it's what I went to college for, and figured I'd might as well put my degree to work, it's pretty sought after in the industry) but miss those sunrises and sets.... We tried not to have to end up in the water tho.. Had to dive a few times to free the prop, but something about jumping off a perfectly good boat 50 mile offshore always got me nervous....I give it up to our airborne zenfidel brethren lol

Edited to remove school name, it read like unsolicited name dropping lol

What hotel do you work at?

That's too bad about the wait. Maybe if we make multiple threads and try to hog up the entire front page of this forum they'll give you one just to keep you out of their hair :p

I didnt say ones that will be reborn as another zenesis mod....the others are STILL paperweights

In order to not totally derail this thread and out of respect for Zen, I am just going to make a couple of comments and then be done with it.

The Reo's have their value and place. The metals are indestructible and can literally be thrown in the dishwasher.

Their downfall is really the atty's that get attached to them, not the devices themselves.

The Reo community is one of the best on this site. They are caring, supportive and wonderful. The same could be said for Rob the creator. He cares, supports and is always working to provide the best product available while keeping his customers best interests at heart.

Sound like anyone we know :)

I'm not getting rid of them. I did get rid of a bunch of others that just were not for me.

I would just like a more effective (zen-like) product to replace the one main part that takes away from what is a solid device.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming and gushing over our bright future :)

I work at a Radisson...for now... it was the first job in the industry I was offered after i decided/was forced to stop commercial fishing and I completed my physical therapy in October. you know, gotta get a Lil experience to accompany the education and build the resume, it looks weird that I got my degree and went out to sea for 3 years, but when I graduated the market was hurting and I was making good money helping a friend build a business .... What type of business do you have OB?

ps if u ever need to stay at a Radisson pm me, I'll hook you up with a special rate code..that goes for the rest of the zenfidel fam too
