Thank you I just thought since I have a Pm from Dec 28th saying I'd be put on the list when one was started it was this one.:lol:

That sounds like you really were on the March list for a ZAU. Maybe all the payment notices for March have not gone out yet. Perhaps Zen will see your note here, or you could wait a little longer before contacting him. If you should be on the list, I'm sure he will get it straightened out.

morning everyone.

Its funny, ripple and dirty harry beat me to the punch in term of a post I have been thinking about making for a couple of days.

Since they started it, I thought I would chime in.

I have noticed both on this thread and on others a similar thing. I have perhaps a slightly different take on the "fanboy" mentality" but with some similar ideas.

Nobody is a bigger fan of the Zenesis products than I am. I think I have "bellied up to the bar" in terms of how much I have invested here. I often feel so passionate about Mike's products and want to let everyone know how wonderful they are and feel in my heart, that I want everyone to own one. There has been more than one occasion, where I literally thought about sending one of mine to someone who has been waiting patiently, because I want them to experience the joy of using and owning one of these devices.

I currently own several other of the well sought after devices, and for me, the zenesis still beats them in terms of the overall package. I will continue to look at and perhaps try other devices, but have yet to find one that matches the zenesis in terms of vapor production, flavor, build quality and ease of use.

I have had some concern though about my role and our perception as a member of this group. What I mean is that I too feel like sometimes, we do turn others off with our over excitement. I think some of this is a matter of our responses being lost in translation. I will try to explain.

I have been here long enough to feel comfortable talking about what Zen wanted for this product. He felt that before the zenesis, the genesis market was limited to those who felt comfortable with more complicated technology. I can tell you, I did not really own a genesis device before I stumbled on the zenesis. His idea was to simplify these devices and get them into the hands of the masses. He would create a device that was simple to use, and include everything necessary to allow the user to get it going and continue to keep it going with a minimal amount of messing with it. Before he released his product, there were a extremely limited number of these out in the "wild". He has changed that by setting up his device in a way, where almost anyone could get one, use it and continue to use it without a detailed knowledge of them before receiving them.

This is the origin of the "just vape it" mentality.

This is also where things can often get lost on some of the newcomers. Those of use who have been here for some time, have a deep understanding of zen's philosophy and why he did what he did. We witnessed when he made changes at his own expense to improve on a already amazing device and saw what he went through in terms of some of the hurdles that he had to overcome. This created a strong bond with him and with each other as we waiting patiently for our devices. We became a family. I think this may have also had a somewhat negative effect too. When other came in to question zen, or his product, we would (do) ofter get defensive in protecting him and his devices because of what we had seen.

Then there are the "rules" Once again, in order to keep to his original philosophy of "just vaping it" zen created some rules. He does not want certain things discussed. I completely agree and understand why he does this. I am guessing that he realizes that certain people with great knowledge of these devices will continue to play with them to adjust them to their individual preferences, but if he does not stick to the original simple idea, that these will not be what he wanted, and that is a simple easy to use, but advanced device that anyone can take out of the box and use. This is crucial. This has to be a device that MANY and not just a few feel that they can actually use without being afraid of the technology.

Time for a short story. There are two really well known pizza places in town. People argue as to which is the best one. To me they are not even in the same league. One is OBVIOUSLY better than the other. I argue about it almost daily. In a effort to try to understand why someone could possibly like the other one I finally figured out one of the main reasons. I have had a number of people say to me that they hated my place because the wait was often too long and that my place were pizza nazi's. You see my place has rules. First, they will only stay open till then run out of dough (which they make daily) People do not like the fact that they may show up and they might be sold out. They feel that they should keep making dough indefinitely. I argue that the reason the dough is so great is that they make it fresh everyday. The second reason I hear frequently is that my place has rules. This is true. They will not allow more than three toppings on any particular pizza. They have decided that more than that ruins what they perceive to be the balance of any particular pie. Now what amuses me about this particular rule that these people hate is that the other place has a set menu where no pizza on that menu has more than three toppings. They just do not make this a rule. Also, and I find this more amusing still is that at the other place, you cannot concoct your own pizza. The menu is set. At my place at least you have the flexibility to make a pizza you want. In actuality, my place is more flexible, but because they discuss this rule, people think they are more rigid, when in fact the opposite is true. In many ways it is just the perception.

This is the case with zen's rules. He enforces them to stick to his original philosophy, and I for one, like it. I figure in some ways, he knows best, and believing in him, I go with that. I may from time to time, do something that he does not want me to, but at this point, I have enough expertise to have earned some of my futzing. :)

Now I will try to get back on track and get to my point (finally :))

I can see how we would be perceived as "fanboys" and how our answers and reactions might turn some others off from time to time. I will now just speak for myself in a effort to not get angry responses from all of you :). I do sometimes get aggravated with people who should just know the answers to simple questions. I want them to search for the answer or just go to the group thread to find the answer. I see vicsan answer the simple questions without aggravation and think she is a saint, because I do not always have the patience to do so. I think that I read every single thread, so they should have to do that too! I respond with things like "just vape it!" and expect that they should just do it.

Then in my more "zen" moments, I realize that this is not right. We need to remember that we were all there once and had and continue to have those same novice questions. I think we need to follow up our answers of "just vape it" with a explanation of why we are saying that. I think if we explained why we had that philosophy, it would make sense and not just make us look like crazed fanboys and even worse, a bunch of asses. As I mentioned above, I think people like vicsan and Lorderos are godsends as they patiently answer question after question without a hint of impatience. Trust me I have asked the same stupid questions over and over and it amazes me that every time they respond. I think we need to have this same compassion for everyone else. Especially considering that this hobby has a tendency to make people a little reactive and impatient sometimes (stupid nic effect on us :)).

I just want to make sure we do not turn others off and do our best to welcome everyone. We can do that by being patient and helpful and remembering we were all there once. I am going to continue to make a concerted effort to do that. We have to remember that we want people to get these, use and enjoy them and the best way to do that is to help them. This in turn will allow zen the continued success to keep producing them and other shiny new ones that we will want (cough ,cOBalt, cough :))

I am so sorry that this post had to come at a time that should have just been one in which we are enjoying the miracle that is 1,000,000 views and also fathers day. Ripple's post just forced me (not in a bad way) to post something that has been on my mind for a week. I love these devices, zen, this thread and all of you, and hope my post in some way helps to remind all of us why we are here. I hope it helps me to be patient and to help all the people that will be joining the ranks of the zenfidels in the future.

I hope this makes sense. I am just waking up.

Once again, congrats zen on a amazing achievement. And happy fathers day to all. I am going to celebrate as I am a dad (to my wonderful pooch) I expect to get a gift too :)

ob, my friend, that was such a thoughtful post.

With it, I think you have put this thread into perspective and explained to people why some of us who have been here from the beginning, have so much respect and admiration for Mike, his business philosophy, his rules (no "O" word, no "M" word and no "V" word) and his Zenesis. We all know from whence he came. :) We know why "Just Vape It" came to be. It was never meant to be dismissive, as some people have insinuated, but as a means to an an end...a good vape on the Zenesis APV. The more you vape it, the better it gets. No Ohms, Voltage or Multimeter needed. It's just his vision of a simple way to vape the Zenesis. Fewer wraps, warmer vape. More wraps, cooler vape.

We witnessed it from the beginning. We have seen the ups and downs. We watched as people received their new Zenesis with the ground-edge fused quartz tanks, promptly crack them and Mike immediately stood up and said they would all get new polished fused quartz tanks, which wouldn't be quite so fragile. We watched the February list Zenesises shipped, only to find the switch design was poor and didn't work quite as intended. I had one. Again, Mike immediately stood up and took the responsibility to send everyone a newly designed switch...at a great loss to him. Mike's business philosophy at work. It's just one reason we have so much respect for him and want to defend him when some people who aren't quite as familiar with him, say things that aren't as kind as we think they should be. I'm guilty.

We've witnessed it all and became great friends while doing so. I know what it's like to go to a thread where long-timers know each other well and are close friends. One thread (shall remain unnamed) that comes to mind wasn't friendly or welcoming and people were resistant to noobs and that came through loud and clear. Another thread, the Reo Mod thread, where everyone was kind, warm, welcoming, helpful and so giving that one couldn't help but feel comfortable there.

THAT is what I always try to remember when new people come here. Do I want them to feel comfortable like people do on the Reo thread? Or unwelcome, as I did on that unnamed thread? I choose to roll out the welcome mat. I'm no saint. I just want to treat people the way I like to be treated. I also like answers to my questions answered YESTERDAY (delayed gratification is not one of my strong points...admittedly ;)), so I am only doing what I would like done for me.

Most of us are new to rebuildable atomizers and had to ask the same questions, watch the videos and jump right in when we received our Zenesis. We were intimidated too. We had switch issues and coils that didn't fire right or wicks that didn't seem to wick our particular juice. We too had metallic/burnt tastes. Riddle, lorderos, Mike and many others were patient with us as we learned. We were all there at one point or another. We just need to remember that. That's all.

Here's a great big hug for you... ((((((HUG))))))

Your Pooch is lucky to have you as his dad and I'm lucky to have you as a friend. Happy Father's Day, my friend. :)

This is in response to "the ob" post (I didn't want to "reply with quote" again LOL). Thanks for that post, the ob, that was well-written and contained some things that made me (a "noob") feel a lot better about taking off my shoes, pulling up a chair and making myself at home. LOL

I'm probably about as new as it gets. I've been here a few weeks. I, too, have noticed the all around feeling of "family" or "friendship". At first I was certain I wouldn't stand a chance of getting to know any of these established, experienced vets. A small part of me felt ashamed in the beginning for wanting to "fit in". For Pete's sake...this isn't High School. But something kept urging me to hang around. I kept coming back to this thread, reading and feeling like it would be great to become a "regular"!

Some of you have a Zen. Some of you have more than one. After hanging out here for a few weeks I've noticed something (oh boy I hope I don't offend anyone with this observation! Oh well....GULP). There seems to be two (major) types of people on here. The first...is the type who wants nothing more than to get their hands on one of these awesome Zen creations. And you obviously are devoted to owning, utilizing and properly taking care of them. And that's great! No harm in that, right?

But then, I've noticed a second type of person. These folks seem to want the same things except, you not only seem devoted to the device...you are as devoted to the concept, the atmosphere, the people you chat with on here (even us "noobs"). You also are clearly devoted to the future success of the company (and to Zen himself). Maybe I'm the only one that views it in this manner, I don't know. And, maybe I sound like I'm full of BLEEP...but that's how I see it. And, well, I sort of want to be part of that. Know what I mean? LOL

'nuff said. Thanks for reading :)

p.s. Vicsan, I must have been typing while you were posting :) Great post...thanks :)

Who made YOU GOD?

Why scold people like that? We're a family here, and while it can be annoying to hear the same quesions over and over again, it can be REALLY SATISFYING to be in service of somebody in need.

Let's leave the scolding to the thread owner who will do it when it's appropriate...

Like right now!

It was a FYI, not scolding anyone. I was just suggesting a thread tool that could help people avoid going through pages and pages of posts.

God? funny, but whatever floats your boat.

Vic, thank you too. This place would not be the same without you. You do more than I ever could. I appreciate you, your contributions and your friendship.

Love this place. :)

Everyone's personality is different.

Some are more social than others. Some are more generous than others. Some are looking for a flag to rally behind. Some want to burn flags. Some want to learn. Some want to teach. Some want to share. Some want to be private. Some want to shout from the highest mountain. Some want to smile inwardly.

But I think there's one type of person that comes to this thread, those that are looking for the best vape.

I LOVE YOU, Vic!:toast::rickroll:

To become one with the zenesis......feel it, vape it, connect with it...........it' ALIVE!
