Does leaving batteries in the charger after they are charged "over charge" them?

I don't even like using batts right off the charger, but take them out as soon as the lights change, and the hubby just leaves them in there after they're charged.

Is he gonna blow up?
Do I need to check on the life insurance?

it depends on the charger, but i heard it's best to let them sit and rotate your batteries. maybe that let's all the energy inside calm down.

No, a good charger should stop and/or switch to trickle charge once it reaches the target voltage.
However, ANYTHING can fail and that definitely includes the charger which can conceivably fail and keep charging the batteries until they fail...

That's actually a good idea, for some reason; a lot of the incidents appear to have happened with fresh off the charger batteries.

Also a good idea - metering batteries when going on and off the charger, every time.

Is he gonna blow up?

Probably not.

Do I need to check on the life insurance?

Always a good idea.
