So I need advice. My wife saw a dog down by the gravel pit and felt bad, so I went down there on the 4 wheeler and it followed me home. Its a cocker spaniel and its real old, blind in 1 eye. Its on my side porch and just started whining. I can't have that, I have a newborn, I guess it was someones inside dog and they dumped it. How do I get it to quit whining? I gave it water and fed it some weiners (dont have dog food). If it keeps whining the coyotes will come up here and eat it. Its driving me nuts!

Its the cycle of life, one day they are eating dog food, the next day they are the food.....
Call animal rescue -- the owners were just too chicken.... to do it themselves, I live out in the country, people do it constantly...
And here's a nasty sobering thought for anyone else who is even thinking of a dump job -- my nephew works for the forest service, they have to 'remove' any released pets before they spread disease or become a nuisance in the parks -- they only try to capture once, that's all I'm saying.....

Yeah but how do I get it to quit whining? I will call animal rescue in the morning. Its sad, its well groomed and everything. My little girl loves it but I have french black copper marans from little peddler bloodline, I can't have it eating my chickens. I don't want to shoot it in the middle of the night.

It's not a new york thing... I read her posts and feel like she's speaking another language that looks similar to English.

Evenin' Its on my side porch with water. I dont have dog food but gave it some turkey and weiners lol.... I guess I could put it out in the barn but its deaf and wont follow me.....its laying on my side porch
Not an option, it stinks lol and wife would throw me out, we have slate floors and they stain easy lol
