With my "blunt" ice pick method, I held the tube in my hand, tapped the pick with a screw driver handle a couple times, moved it to the other side & repeated, and it popped right off..
And the back on part... Because of the 510 connecter sticking up, I used a socket (1/2" I think), rested it on the socket and tapped it back on..

I had done similar...with a very long, thin flat headed screwdriver....after indexing it where I wanted, I used a block of wood instead, to protect the surface and finish of the top cap and tapped it back in place with my hammer....2 minutes tops to do mine...

Hey Everyone. When should I charge my batteries? How low should I let them run?

with a mechanical, when you start to notice a decline in performance/vaping, thats when you want to change your battery....take the battery out, let it sit for 1/2 to 1 hour before putting it in the charger to give it time to cool off....the heat build-up can cause pre-mature wear, as does over-discharging them.... we wanna keep our batteries as long as possible before replacing them ;)

edit: IMR's (especially AW) keep their top-end power for quite a long time. when they start to run down, the voltage drops dramatically hence the notice in performance....

Probably a lot of opinions, here is mine..
18350.. I am changing out about every 3 hours
18500... About every 5-6 hours
18650.. 8 hours or so
All of these will go longer, but fresh batteries are best..

get a multimeter. anyone using an apv should own one imo. dont discharge below 3.6

really, they arent needed unless you're a techie, trying to find an open or a short quickly or real picky about your gear....the average joe really doesnt care one whit other than if their gear works or not and once they learn what they are looking for and how to care for their pv's, no 'tech gear' is needed...other than techs or engineers, it's actually a minority of vapers that even have one and usually the 'elitists' looking for their 'ultimate' vape... the only reason why I have one (actually 2 lol), is because I AM a PC tech... I never used it before I had any rebuildables, and then it was to check out my iatty and ody coils (god they are such a pain to work with.. too much work)..once or twice with my zenesi...it's been a while, and both of my meters have been sitting in my tool case untouched for months.

edit (yet again lol): I hate when I re-read one of my posts and find after proof-reading, that it still didnt sound right.... yea I finally caught up in the thread ;)

Now, I tend to "chain vape".
But with my Zens, I generally change batteries each time I fill the tank.
Full tank, fresh battery.

I did not know about this. Thanks TexasPride and Shaitaan for posting this!

"let it sit for 1/2 to 1 hour before putting it in the charger to give it time to cool off....the heat build-up can cause pre-mature wear, as does over-discharging them...." Good Point!!
