Wharf - I have had that issue with juice darkening before. It is in fact caramelized juice returning to the tank and I think it means either you are tilting it too much so that too much juice gets delivered to the coil, or it has a short somewhere and is not supplying enough power to the coil to vaporize the juice that gets wicked.

So, time to check your shorts.

I have been having some difficulties with my son this week. He slept in twice for school and was on me to hurry up and drive him to school. (I don't function without at least 1 cup of coffee) So I rush and drive him to school and get him there on time. Thursday night I had a sudden funny feeling and checked the insurance on my car. Sure enough, I had been driving it for a week with expired tags. Doh!!! So I figure I will just buy insurance, and no problem, right? Wrong! I get there and find out that they will not issue insurance unless the tolls from a bridge crossing 3 years ago, that I thought I paid and forgot about. To top it off, you can't pay it right there. You have to go to the office that looks after the tolls, pay your bill, and then have the auto insurance agent call to get a code to lift the block from your plates. What a day right!!! Then the phone rings and it is the principal from my son's school. It seems he has not been in class at all this week. I phone him, no answer, I text him, no answer. An hour later I try again and he tried to lie to me about being in school. I have now taken everything electronic away from him. No phone, laptop, x-box etc. I am now the proud owner of a sullen a$$h*le. I don't know what else I can do here.

Be the best mom you can, good luck katz he's being a kid, he'll grow up (except for rat) we all do.

Proud ....... we don't have the words for what her mother and I feel.

Catch ya later K-man.

As for the car, I did. :)

Ding ding ding ding. We have another winner! But yourself a new car lol

In today's society you can never be too careful. Keep her close. Keep her with family. Keep her happy. And the result is the daughter you have Kevin. Good your you. Good for both of you actually! You should be proud.

I often wonder how my Dad managed to live until 80 considering he smoked until 75 and did not stay away from alcohol although he did not drink everyday like my mom did. But to raise 7 daughters, wow. My dad was an angel. I really miss him.

My son will be 22 this November. I thank God daily that he was not a girl. I doubt I could have survived it. Between fear for her, and a teenaged girl's attitude, I'd have stroked out already.

Katz, I feel for you, I've been there! I have 2 boys, now 28 and 24, and I'm still amazed that I didn't kill them when they were in their teens! I've been a single mom since they were 10 & 6. I had the same trouble with the oldest one about getting up for school (I had to be at work at 2:30am!). I would even call the house until he answered to make sure he was up and awake. The youngest would screw up now and then, but would at least make the effort by walking to school.

It sounds like you're doing it right! Taking stuff away (including privileges) is about the only thing that will wake them up.

If you ever want to vent, ramble or whatever, please feel free to PM me. I don't claim to have all the answers, but I have good shoulders to lean on! :)

Thank you for this. He is in his room right now with the music on (I did not take that away as that is what got me thru the tough times when I was a kid) cleaning up the stinky pigsty and getting his laundry together. He will be doing this everyday until everything is clean. Maybe after the one month without electronics I might just have a clean kid who will talk to me instead of just hrmph. :)

You're lucky you get a hrmph! My oldest would yell. Both of my boys are about 6'6", the oldest is built like a linebacker and the youngest is a twig! Now they are both so laid back and easy going!

We have a no yelling rule in this house. I have never yelled at him and he is not allowed to yell at me. If he tries, I walk away and will not interact with him until he treats me with respect. This started way back when he was little, when he learned that temper tantrums were not allowed. They did not happen more than a couple of times as a toddler. They soon turned into a couple of tears with some moping and then on with life. This rule is still in effect but for both of us now. No tantrums for mom either. I swore I would never have tantrums with my kids, because my mother was the master of tantrums.
