Aircraft aluminum.. You just don't play..

Materials matter... I don't price shop for the cheapest available "whatever"... I decided when I started this that I was going to make the best PV that I can make... and that starts with the best materials available.

I can buy cheaper Aluminum, Cheaper Stainless... use cheaper finishers and MUCH cheaper cutting tools, machinery, etc... but at the end of the day, it would basically be making the statement "yeah, that's good enough... whatever"

I want to say, here it is, it's made of the best stuff I can source, and though things are NEVER perfect, I can honestly say I tried.

That's what matters to me.

Switch body is where the button screws into right? So the entire part the knurled part is attached to is stainless so it conducts?

I think I'm learning a tiny bit.

Actually, Aluminum is a GREAT conductor, but I like the silver line of the stainless there, sets it off nicely and unfinished aluminum wouldn't have looked as good... it only adds a couple grams to the weight, so I decided to go with stainless.

It's been used on some jets back in the mid 90's you don't get to see

Used a lot in vacuum deposition equipment 'cuz it's structurally stable and doesn't outgas (that's what the machine shop I worked in specialized in - chip-making machine components. ICs that is; not snacks. :p )
