how much does the quartz tanks weaken if they have a chip taken of of it at the top edge. i just looked at my standard and seen i have a small chip in it. and its my primary pv now with no back up tank. thanks..
I always make it a policy to have 1-2 extra tanks on hand - its a good policy. When I got my cobalts at vc, I also grabbed a couple extra tanks - already had to replace a tank because of a drop.

i grabbed an extra tank for it at vc too. but sun. night at vc the standard took a fall and broke a tank. and zen was packed up so im on the back up tank now which is the one in question with a chip out of it..
Dammit.... if I could justify $300 right now.....

Feel better, Jen and steveo. I was thinking of opening a b & m shop near me. Not too many vaping shops where I am. Now i just need a couple investors 
I've been using a quartz tank, one of the original tanks, not fired quartz, since February with small chips on the top edge that happened in shipping. It's structurally sound and so I have never bother to change it. I do have extra quartz tanks as well as SS ones.......
thanks dearme..im bein extra careful. i have noticed it has spread a hair bigger..i dont know if its from putting the top cap on and off thats caused it to get bigger. but ill be extra careful with it and just take it easy. and once i get all bills caught up from vc..(lol) i will purchase back ups for sure. figures that when i get back from vapercon all bills are at or a lil past due date! and i spent a lil more then originally intended there, so it will be a lil while. thanks for the input
You might even try turning it over if you think that the top cap might be what's doing it. If it were on the bottom, the top cap wouldn't come in contact wit it.

My tank had a chip in it. I turned it over so it is on bottom. It had not gotten any bigger.
Now for my little Mishap I had Saturday.
I when to where my wife works to do some honey do's. Yea it is odd to be doing that at here work but it helps her get a bigger bonus as I get paid with lunch. If she called someone to do it it's 1 hour min. which cost $150. I think I am getting ripped of but.
Oh back to my mishap.
I had both my Provari/Zap combos in her purse in the truck so they did not get laid on their side and leak.
She got off early as I was there and good excuse to leave for her.
I was driving as we had a trailer on back and she don't like pulling a trailer.
Long story and I've not even gotten to the mishap yet.
Okay here goes.
I ask her to hand me the black Provari outta her purse. She digs it out and and hands it to me.
I always hit the button a little before I take a vape to heat it up some. I'm concentrating on driving cause it's dark and the headlights are not that good.
Another reason she is not driving.
Got off track again.
So I doing a little heating up and put it to my lips.
Wow that is super hot. I get it where I can see it and she has knocked the cap off. Burnt my lip pretty good. She says what's wrong and I explain it has to have a cap on it to vape. She starts digging and can't find it. So she ask can i just put the other one off the other thing on it? Yet that would help and it wouldn't burn me. She finally found the cap.
I've still have a place where the wick/coil burnt me.
Later we both laughed about it.
